Superb 190 TSi fuel economy
Sh!t caught in filters might happen, but how would that increase fuel consumption other than when it is clogged air filters? @jonsym might be able to tell us how they are getting on now with the fuel consumption. New tanks sitting today at my local filling station.

Keys insurance
My RAC Breakdown Cover has Lost Key cover up to £1,500. That was a choice that i took as a 'reward offer' on renewal.

New Octavia 1.4 Hybrid Estate.
@Biggles33 Why had the car not been charged before you collected it, was it a new car from a Dealership?

@Baldur73Is the Park & Ride at Kinross next to Sainsbury not still free, i thought Sainsbury owned the car park and not Fife & Kinross Council. The other place i use regularly is at Dunblane Tesco / Railway Station. That is until the new hub at Stirling Park & ride opens with more chargers. I can use the phone app at the new Forfar Hub rather than the card. Only issue is the hub has very poor Mobile Reception. Never tried it any place else. I often have to phone CPS to get them to start Chargers and also report faults. The £20 a year charge for a card stops in July. New Hub @ Orchard Bank Forfar. Just down from the Angus House chargers. Just off the A90 at the new Shell / Starbucks / Greggs / Spar filling station & KFC / McD's. & Marston's.

Actually Traders / Buyers buy cars at Auction and then can pay for them to go for a refurb ready to go straight for sales at their business. That is Used cars ready for sale to the public. That is cars just like WBAC buy and then get refurbished & then go through Car Super Markets. There are people that drive their cars & keep their vehicles in that condition. BCA lend money to Traders / Businesses to buy their cars for stock at the auction and then provide the refinishing / refurb service for a fee to those wanting the cars delivered to them looking like new. 6 years ago. (in 2019 BCA changed ownership.)

Oil for 1.5 TSI
What age / build date of 1.5 TSI,. GPF or no GPF. The VW 504 00/ 507 so if 5 w 30 FS III is fine but for the 1 5TSI with GPF Skoda recommend VW 508 00/ 509 00. That is 0w 20 FS IV. Some dealers are using 0w 30 FS.

Why not make an appointment and go get your Yeti inspected for a sale to WBAC? If your car is presented as a used car is when ready for sale on a used car forecourt then the person can not knock the offer price down for knocks and chips.

Which skoda
Surely any of those that had a TDI with a defeat device and zero VED and great low fuel consumption will not be signing up with Ambulance Chaser Law companies trying to get compensation from the VW group.

MY21 1.5TSI Broke down today
Skoda Assist can get you a suitable car delivered today. If your own car is not ready for the holiday then it will have to be the Hire or Courtesy car you use. Be sure it is a suitable vehicle and do not listen to anything about the Dealership not having a suitable car. VW group have hundreds of cars they own at dealerships or they hire ones.

Superb 190 TSi fuel economy
Filling station underground tanks have filters & water traps and so do the forecourt pumps. They will be serviced as they are fuelling thousands of vehicles regardless of the level of fuel in the tank. Hopefully in the UK none are dispensing H20 anymore from condensation in tanks.

FIREWALL
?are you asking about the bulkhead which is behind the engine and separates the engine compartment from the cars cabin?

@Baldur73 No particular advice as i am in Scotland and have a Charge Place Scotland card and use free charging so plan my trips using those. It is getting more limited as much of Scotlands Councils are charging to charge, Edinburgh & North of Edinburgh. Angus is still free. I have paid less than £17 in the past year to use InstaVolt for quick top ups to get to Charging Hubs. The Corsa is not much good for range on quicker routes so i need to allow about 70 minutes extra for each 150 miles travelled since there are only 50kwh chargers and no guarantee of getting right onto one. If i have to get someplace quick and maybe get back again i do not take the EV.

Fabia VRS - Spark plug advice and other problems
I know the name of each member here that had issues and not all have posts on here because lots communicate by pm or in person as they did not want to say post about a duff car before selling or trading it in. The issues arose after the last CAVE vehicles were out of Warranty and CTHE were in Warranty and Some Skoda /VW techs were denying issues. There are only less than 1,100 UK CTHE vRS and the cars that has chain stretch might well be very few. But luckily those that needed new chains had a Warranty and eventually VW had to issue a TPI. Forewarned is forearmed. Many buying a used car do not know when and what was done while the car was under warranty or since out of warranty. There were various actions taken as try outs in the past 12 years since Skoda / Seat /VW/ Audi started selling them. Sometimes not all 4 brands got the same actions from Dealerships. @SeaGoatmight still be around and oil and maintenance was something he was fussy about as were many others that got the Warranty Work carried out. The matter was not overblown on a forum as VW Group like to make out. The issue was under reported and Dealership staff claimed to not know of the issues. They were responsible for many cars leaving dealership low on the crappy long life VW 504 00 and telling owners they all used oil. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/457262-2013-fabia-mk-ii-vrs-rattle-to-left-of-engine People were having to pay through the nose and still having important info on their cars not given to them. 'They all do that sir, or never heard of that. @pearce_jjwas another that did not mistreat his car. He had this, and the chain issue and the slipping clutches. People cane to the forum, but then had to come with issues because the Dealership employees panned them off. Chain done at 33,000 miles. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/434190-cthe-new-software-for-misfire http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/433353-cthe-momentary-harsh-power-loss http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/433469-cam-belt-or-chain

Fabia VRS - Spark plug advice and other problems
@NodnerbHere. But really do not stress on this. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/438447-2012-2014-cthe-mk2-fabia-vrs-timing-chain-issues http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/451694-skoda-fabia-vrs-14-tsi http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/424866-vrs-timing-chain The TPI is on the Techs measuring the chain wear of CTHE's.

Fabia VRS - Spark plug advice and other problems
@Nodnerb Did you get the New Denso you fitted back? & what plugs has the mechanic fitted, more Denso? How much for the plugs and coils and his time? PS I do not think you had anything serious, just the usual that a Twincharger needs to keep them all good. The CTHE has more issues with the Timing Chain / Tensioner than the CAVE had. There is a TPI covering that. Chill and do not stress.

Fabia VRS - Spark plug advice and other problems
^^^ Generally true. But with 1.4 TSI / TFSI 132-136 kW Twinchargers especially CAVE but not exclusively the issue is one plug. That comes from the design of the Inlet manifold and the plug that gets fouled and gets cooked. Not all but the failure rate with the 1,800 or so CAVE engine Fabia in the UK was high. More than a 25% failure rate of original engines and even like for like replaced engines. There were many that had one plug lose a tip. Some were terminal to the engine and some were not.

Fabia VRS - Spark plug advice and other problems
Fingers crossed. My experience has been that a plug on its way out has caused the premature death of a coil. It is not uncommon for the Exhaust Emissions light to come on when a car has been in a garage or bodyshop ticking over / ideling, or getting moved about and running cold and rich. 2 of the plugs you removed were sooted, and one particularly. Once the car is running right, if you gave it a good blast after the oil is up to temp and then gave the car a good roasting and stopped then let the engine cool & removed the plugs they would very likely all be nice and clean. The long term problem with CAVE & CTHE has been the one plug getting sooted up & then oiled up. The first CTHE's out late 2012 to early 2013 got Software Updates and the SEAT Ibiza Cupra was delayed being launched until the software was updated. Strangely there were still CTHE cars delivered that then had the Oil Spray Jet update as some were still oil users.

It is not a myth or Chinese whispers, my brake discs are in a terrible mess from new on the road in August but built over a year ago and over 8,000 miles driven.

@Gerrycan the good thing with EV,s is you might very seldom use your brakes. The regen to the battery can be from just being off the accelerator so coasting and charging, or more regen while decelerating so knocking off speed, or use regen like changing down gear. I do plenty miles and have front wheel drive but might as well have rear drums like the VW Group EV with rear wheel drive as my discs are very rusty from little use other than coming to a stop from about 5mph.

"Take the wheel!"
DVLA or SMMT figures do not really tell the tale of what those buying or leasing a car might of got and what was First Registered for new Owners / Drivers. Skoda / VW / Audi / SEAT know that low average C02 g/km was required. So VW Group give a good deal to VW Finance, Lease Companies, Hire Car Companies and Utilities / Local Authorities / Fleets / MOTABILITY finance which is the biggest car buyer in the UK. Skoda models are being offered at low cost as are SEAT on the Motability List. So 400 Citigo EV's were registered, other lower emission vehicles were Pre-reg or became Demonstrators / Management cars and then Motability Finance bought a good few low emission vehicles that there was Low or Nil Advance Payments on for those getting a car from Motability. It all helped Skoda and the cars that were first registered and VW Group own get sold as used cars. The Motability ones that they bought go to BCA in 3 years time.

Fabia VRS - Spark plug advice and other problems
@Nodnerb Welcome to the forum. Could you check the gap on all 4 of those plugs you removed, and what was the gap at with the new Denso plugs you fitted? PS Under acceleration you have turbo & supercharger up to 3,500 rpm. Commonly the misfires are at around that point under hard acceleration, then the Super Charger disengages. ? Do you know if the Water Pump been replaced. One think i noticed when a water pump / supercharger magnetic pump was going to be needing changed is not just a little drop in coolant, but if you had the car in Cruise Control and at around 70 mph, if you started to go up an incline on the motorway / dual carriageway the Engine Exhaust Emission Light could come on or the Engine light and the ECP could both come on.

Enyaq Heat Pump Option
If Elon Musk has decided to build Tesla,s in the UK we might see differences in what they do for the UK and Continental European market. Cars that suit UK roads with less concern with speed and more about efficiency and fast CCS charging.

Becoming a new owner of the Kamiq
It is a Fabia MK2 vRS with DQ200 description from me as that was what I drove in the main over 6 years and occasionally since. Along with various other cars with 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG,s. PS e+Corsa,s do not change gear. You just select D and floor the accelerator and the same power is there to make the car go forward from any speed with no dropping of gears. You can select increased regen to reduce speed without using the brakes. Mine are very rusty.

Campervan Conversion! Help Please!!
When i had a camper van i bought the sleeping cushion and backs from a caravan seller that had odd spares in a store room from when they had converted van or camper van layouts. Then for an Alhambra i used to sleep on a foam single mattress from Ikea. Ikea is quite good for stuff that can be made to suit use in a camper with just a bit of imagination.
