How to ask questions
Welcome. Go to the section that covers the model and year of your car, then you can start a New post. Or maybe use the Search function and see if there is a thread already covering the question / issue your car has. There often is unless the car is a brand new model just available. PS, that will be the Yeti section I think.

Service intervals!
The same oil runs it in just perfectly. The Oil filled at the Factory is used for that very purpose. There are lots of people that do not actually understand what they are doing when changing the oil too soon. It is not doing many miles or lots of short journeys with cold starts so the oil / engine is never getting up to a good temperature that is the issue. PS Lots of Taxis & Private Hire cars run night and day and are sitting ticking over so not doing lots of cold starts. They do high miles and get regular checks and oil changes. Lots of Reps (Travellers as they were) 'Salespeople' & others do high miles and are not putting cars into Dealerships every 10,000 miles, or 4 or 5 months as Variable / Flexible servicing is all that high mileage drivers need.

Sounds exactly like you got an Oil & Inspection Service at 24 months 18,000-20,000 miles. I hope that includes the Pollen Filter. There used to be a £99 Oil Service at the time of the Interim & Major Services Menu that i posted. Up to you if you want to have that one service with them at 1 year / 9,400 miles or there about, or wait until the 2 years. I would not wait 24 months to have a new car inspected, but then a Skoda Dealership look see is not much of anything.

It is lots of Kidology with Skoda. Have your oil changed annually if you want it changed. Ask what the 2 services you got in the cars purchase include unless you already have that in writing. ? Are they doing @ 2 year & 4.? So a Pollen Filter @ 2 years as an Extra. Are they doing the A/C as per Manufacturers Recommendations. No Brake Fluid at 3 years as per Manufacturers Recommendations. @ 4 years are they including the Air Filter & Spark Plugs replacement. Are they doing the Pollen Filter & the A/C again. Until 2020 this was Skoda UK Fixed Price Servicing as for 3-10 year old cars.

There is no Oil Service & an Inspection Service at separate times / visits. That is just Skoda nonsense. When the Car is in for an Oil Change the Inspection, pollen filter at 2 year and Software Updates, road test should be getting done.

If you have 2 services from a plan at 2 years and 4 years then fine, keep them. Pay someone else to change the oil at 10,000 miles and do not reset the Service Indicator. Or you buy an oil pump and change the oil & filter. Have a professional look over the car if you are not doing it. Are you keeping the car and having it at 4 years old?

It is a Skoda RS not a Porsche RS, a cooking family car with nothing particularly special engine / power wise. There is obviously Long Life oil. The VW508 00 / 509 00 0w20 FS IV that the cars get filled at from the factory. They do oil to VW502 00 if anyone wants to do Fixed Servicing and not use 'Long Life' oil which can be used for either fixed or flexible. A 9,400 mile (10,000) mile Oil change is perfectly fine in the UK, even a 20,000 mile one. Changing oil @ 10,000 km / 6,217 miles is just silly for a road car in the UK.

@OllieOcty If the car is on Variable / Flexible Servicing at 24months / 18,000-20,000 miles which ever comes first have the oil changed at 10,000 miles if you want. It was called Minor & Major Servicing until about 2017/18 Skoda called it Interim Service & Major Service. If at 10,000 miles when getting and Oil & Filter change some incompetent tech can not put the car on to Fixed Servicing then fine it is counting down to the service it shows now. None of it is as complicated as Skoda or Dealership staff like to make it sound. https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners-and-drivers/servicing/service-plans/service-schedules

Skoda Enyaq
I like that he says as he finds and what he thinks. Also that he is a wider person so not likely to tell you the seat bolsters do not hold you in place like a 12 stone skinny person might do. The Lane Keep Assist is something that will annoy more than a few people. VW group are making it a song and dance! I like it on cars but do like being able to put it off with just one button if it is too intrusive.

I hope the neighbour has sold that from their CCTV to one of the Newspapers or ensured they have the copyright on it. That will be a Youtube hit.

Agreed. But i never mentioned paying the Money to snouters like Grants Shapps MP or the previous Secretaries of State for Transport like the clown that was in Office at the time of the VW Scandal and got a Peerage. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_McLoughlin It was the Treasury i said. For the Public Purse, but then they get to cream off from that as well. David Cameron had Lord Michael Heseltine in a position to help with the Motor Industry. He who owns Haymarket Media Group who own AutoCar / What Car / Piston Heads and others including finance Journals. The Publications that were 3 Monkeys about VW Group cheating yet were part of the group whos former employees were employed by the company testing emissions for the Government Agencies and others. https://www.emissionsanalytics.com The Government Ministers were made aware of 'fictional results from emission testing' done by manufacturers.

1.4 tsi autonomy
You can fill the tank to the point that the fuel gauge shows you have a full tank. Then you can keep putting in fuel, maybe another 5 litres or more. There is not then FULL plus more fuel in showing on the gauge and that extra fuel in gets used before the Guage / needle moves.

The figure of Euro 5 TDI,s with defeat devices bought new by private individuals will very likely be less than 50%. VW Finance, Lease Companies and Fleet / Companies will be in the majority that owned the cars for the first 2 or 3 years. The UK Government did a deal with VW group and got 1.1 million or some such pathetic compensation and then got in an argument with VW about the next Million or any more money. The thing is that the UK and UK pension funds had financial interests in VW. It is the UK treasury that should be getting Funds in from VW. But then the UK Government Ministers were made aware long before September 2015 that vehicles with Defeat Devices were being imported into the UK.

Not everyone is greedy is why. 'People' did not have to have VW's voluntary emissions fix carried out and the market was good for ones that did not have 'The fix'. If you owned the car the choice was yours to not have it touched by Dealerships. As with any 'Software Updates', if you do not want them then make it clear when the cars is being serviced that they do not do them. that is if the car is yours.

Brand new Scala SOS emergency call fault
Call Skoda Assist and they can arrange uplift of the car and delivery of a loan car. Or the dealer can send out a Master Tech with all the gear and more than an idea. You do not need to be inconvenienced because Skoda/VW and dealerships keep handing over vehicles with Faulty Software. There are even DVLA recalls over SOS issues. Skoda Secret Service Service Campaigns are not Recalls even if Skoda Dealership staff might call them that.'recall actions' TPI,s. Unless they contact registered Keepers they are not RECALLS http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions

Skoda roof rack for ebikes
Even a lowly 'max load of 50kg' for a roof would be OK for 2 X 20 kg bikes / bars and carriers. That is less than 50kg going on the roof. By really is the carrier OK with a 20kg bike on it up there?

Smelly Kamiq Dsg..... clutch-es?
It could be the GPF (PPF / OPF). They regen. If not noticeable now be aware of it as you might notice later on. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/466684-20-tsi-190-gpf-regeneration https://www.tiguanforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=7079 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/479195-car-behaving-strangely http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/456700-has-my-car-got-a-gpf

Smelly Kamiq Dsg..... clutch-es?
Highly unlikely to be the clutches if all is well with the DSG. If the smell is from the DSG best find out why. ? So what engine has the car and how many miles has the car done from new. Brakes do not 'Driven in', which is what used to be known as 'Run in', as do tyres, suspension, engine etc. PS The DSG will be fine with the car going at the max speed it can do and there should be no smell coming from the DSG even when a DQ200 7 speed Twin Dry Clutch one.

The General Public including non car drivers are the ones that suffer from vehicles Emissions, and the value of used TDI's is pretty high and certainly not suffering from depreciation because of the Emissions Cheat VW Group had on vehicles. Maybe give a cash donation to the Heart & Lung type charities from the saving you had on low VED and good fuel consumption you got with your TDI's.
