  1. Re GPF. Since we are only getting towards 3 years since VW group so Skoda had to fit GPF,s to Petrol vehicles we do not know how it is going to be after 3 years old with a VW Group / Skoda with GPF. There are some reporting issues already and a recent thread on Briskoda that links other Threads from 2018/ 19. Some might want to price what Dealerships want to fit a replacement GPF on a car past the Manufacturer's Warranty period. Thread in Octavia Mk3 section on increased fuel consumption with a car with a GPF. There is a way of driving to clear a GPF. It is not the same as clearing a DPF. EDIT. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/491505-fuel-consumption-increase-reasons
  2. The finish of the i3's is very good but the price they had got to was ridiculous. The new lower prices & the £2,500 grant will have many more look at getting one. I imagine there are a few unhappy owners of ones bought in the weeks before the price drop. Lots have been bought or leased by companies and local authorities over the past years, i hope not many got new ones in beginning of 2021.
  3. Life is so easy with this. Your car can look like it has been given a professional valet when all you did was a quick wash & rinse. (That is as long as had good paintwork before the wash.)

  5. @janis People get told stuff by salespeople at Dealerships and much can by rubbish, or as you seem to get, the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Then there are Motor Trade Publications that publish stuff. It is a question of believing what you want to, or maybe triple checking.
  6. @ecojunk The thing is that you worked on your car, the car was inspected as far as a MOT does check and yet yours failed. So if you are not Derren Brown you are none the wiser until the failure happens.
  7. @DB72 Sorry but someone else will need to tell you about DQ381's and DQ380's as i have no experience or knowledge of them and when fitted and with what cars.
  8. @DB72 1.0, 1.2, 1.4 & 1.5 TSI are DQ200's as are 1.6 TDI CR's. Edit, Possibly 1.8 TSI's also.
  9. Yes, you are looking for it to say on the bottle that it meets spec VW504 / 507 Quantum, Fuchs, Castrol , Mobil or any engine oil from a super market or motor factor to meet VW 504 00 / 507 00
  10. @DB72 The 1st reply by @SashaGrace said when the 7 speed wet clutch DSG became available in Mk3 Superbs.
  11. If buying a newer car there is no reason to not be leaning towards a 7 speed wet clutch DSG.
  12. @DB72 That is not difficult though.
  13. The 'Tyre Pressure Monitoring System' that gave you a warning that a tyre had lost pressure (the circumference had changed since last set.) Read the owners manual. ? In 3 years of ownership have you never reset the TPMS or checked it? There might not be a leak now, but if you are losing pressure still then @Carlstonhas covered that issue, first reset the TPMS after seeing if the pressures when cold are as you set them at.
  14. @1963Malc I take it you are getting the car repainted after the zinc inclusion has been dealt with and you are not getting new panels and those painted. I would not rush to spend money on treatments before seeing how good the repair and painting is done. See what the detailer says when it comes to that. Better still talk to the painter. On a 5 year old car with original paint and repainted panels i would stick with polishing and waxing the car. .
  15. ? After the tyre repair and checking and setting all the tyre pressures as you want them have you reset the TPMS?
  16. The 40,000 miles is correct for the DQ250. Not the 3 years. Haldex servicing is every 3 years or sooner. Not shown as how many miles.
  17. @ecojunkWhen did your car pass a MOT which meant a professional had run their eye over your car?
  18. Yes for top ups use as was in at the time of the last oil change. If you want at the next oil change to go for VW502 00 and do oil changes at 9,4000 miles / 372 days or sooner.
  19. For a TSI it can be VW 502 00 for fixed service intervals so 5w 40 FS, and for fixed or variable it can be VW504 000 / 507 00, So 5w 30 FS III For a TDI it has to be Long Life Oil for fixed or variable servicing, so VW504 00 /507 00 5w 30 FS III
  20. ? Can anyone tell me, have Skoda got the same setup in the Enyaq as in this ID.4 where if in ECO and you floor the accelerator you do not get full power and acceleration? To me this is simply dangerous on the ID.4 as on this video. There are other EV's when in settings giving less power / torque for extra range that can give full power on demand. EDIT. This is in the comments.
