  1. @vrskeith No cameras allowed in the garages i visit were there are often just cheeky monkeys & no drinks on offer.
  2. No point not just putting 400kg of additional weight in the car to see how they might do for a family car that likes to eat at Fast Food places and take a weekends worth of clothes & the pets. Or even how they would do as Airport Transport / Private Hire Cabs.
  3. 50kW They are Free to charge at. http://thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/local/angus-mearns/2029714/angus-ev-hub-up-and-running-beside-busy-a90-at-forfar http://angus.gov.uk/news/work_complete_on_new_electric_vehicle_charging_hub_in_forfar There is a new Shell Filling Station just 100 yards away which Shops & Drive Thu Diner. Owned by EG & i believe there are chargers going in there and these might well be 100 kW or more. (EG being owned by the brothers that have bought ASDA) 350kW Ionity is in Perth near to the Grassicks BMW Dealership & next to Starbucks.
  4. There is a muppet at a charger in town leaving their Tesla on the Rapid Charger for hours after the car has finished charging and there is only the one rapid there. At this charger hub there are those failing to get the CCS out of the holder once it is unlocked and ready to plug in, but that is just because they are tight in the holder. I Emailed the Council Convener this morning to ask why no Signage up for direction to the Charging Hub. The other thing is drivers going and not having Charge Place Scotland cards or Apps and not knowing about the cost of charging etc. The Hub does show on Plug Share but not yet on ZapMap. I have Emailed them.
  5. ^^^ Not forgetting that was a 335d x-drive. Which really makes it rather good for a daily drive all year.
  6. New Electric Charging Hub provided by Angus Council near to and addressed as St Margaret House, Forfar. DD8 1WS Very near to the chargers that were and still are @ Angus House, Forfar, DD8 1AX No signage up yet from the A90 North or South or from Forfar.
  7. & remember if you put the spare wheel on that the tyre is brand new and not worn in and an odd one out in width and circumference by a little so still treat like an 'Emergency Spare' and reduce your speed even if there are no warning stickers on the wheel. Reset your TPMS when you fit the spare, and reset it again when the original goes back on and you have checked or reset the pressures. Check the TPMS at regular car checks and when you change / adjust tyre pressures.
  8. Welcome. There are more than one 'Silver' so best you check with a dealership or pain supplier using the cars VIN or Registration.
  9. They will arrive in the UK wearing whatever tyres Skoda have fitted to the car on the production line in the factory.
  10. Dry Clutch DSG & Wet Clutch DSG will come to no harm when stopped in D or S and Autohold engages. No issue if Stop / Start is functioning. No harm to them either if the shifter is put to N and the e-Brake or a manual Parking Brake is applied. The Clutches are disengaged and the car is not fighting against the Autohold. (if the car moves a little the autohold applies the brakes a bit harder.) Some VW Models have the brake lights when stopped with Autohold on and some do not. There is N & P with Autos and Semi Auto's & the engine can be started in P or in N, starting in N can be inhibited in low temperatures, what temp might be in the Owners Manual as is how to drive using a Semi Auto Gearbox. There is N because you may not want to go into P and lock the drive wheels. Also not go through R from D. (They are Automated Manuals / Semi Automatics after all.) Armchair experts maybe use remote control for their TV, & car or vehicle drivers that drive Auto's, Semi Autos, CVT's etc might have an idea about how they drive and have looked into what might reduce the life of their vehicles components or not.

@Jfhuk? What is that actually for, as in what spec of vehicle with what RRP and leasing for how long and with what annual mileage?

  13. Planned and organised toerags are well planned and organised, opportunists go for the easiest targets so a visual deterrent works well, but then if they just want something out of the car they will just centre punch your window.
  14. It is a Skoda so park next to am Audi and they will take it, or a MK1 Fabia vRS even.
  15. You need it with the car to put on as a anti theft device when the car is left parked. So if no passenger maybe on the floor behind your seat or securely in the boot.
  16. It looks exactly like a photoshopped car will for social media use. A digitally altered image. For real physical lowering for static show cars it can be ratchet straps used to lower them and reduce the wheel to arch gap.
  17. The 1.0TSI really does work with a DSG compared to with a Manual and when the 1.0 TSI & 1.5 TSI are combined with the Mild Hybrid and DSG the VW Group / Skoda will possibly finally be rid of the issues that there can be with the DQ200 DSG's as there have been for more than a decade now.

I take that to mean Dealer / Specialist Fit Options. They are things that will be on the car and on the invoice before delivery. So the Mud Flaps, Disabled Controls / conversions, Blue Light Services Suspension, 1 or 2 year Warranty Extended /Service Plan, so bits and finance plans / agreements.
  19. There is no issue fitting 15" Steel Spare wheels to TSI or TDI Monte Carlo's or vRS with standard brakes.
  20. In the UK the OEM fitment is 205/40 R 17 on Trinity alloys. Normally £400 is what they change hands for, wheels and tyres.
  21. @Carlston I only say it because for the past 5 decades i have driven many cars & vehicles of all types with many wheel and tyre sizes and have had cars i kept for many years and that got many different tyres fitted over the years or changed during the seasons. My tyre buying over the years for many cars leads me to believe i have some idea about the actual comfort difference tyres can make, and the difference to the handling and economy. Maybe eventually you will tell us what car you drive and what tyres you fit to the cars you drive.
