  1. Thanks to Ian for picking up the plates and certificate in person.
  2. That will be the dual mass flywheel beginning to fail in that case.
  3. Woah - even by Norwegian standards, that is too expensive. I would look for a VAG specialist in your area and get them to change the gasket (which is a liquid gasket). Worth doing the Cylinder Head Gasket whilst you are there too as you have to take the head off and decoke the valves (media blasting) and put in new spark plugs. An oil and filter change would also help.
  4. Hello all, I am selling my cherished private plate SK17 0DA. Suitable for cars from 2017 onwards. Would prefer to sell it to a Briskoda member (and ideally one in Scotland). £500 You will get the retention certificate and plates in the post if needed. Please PM for further details.
  5. That error is usually associated with the front level sensor - https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/408744-afs-fault-lights-no-longer-adjusting/
  6. What's your oil consumption like?
  7. https://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/darkside-front-mounted-engine-oil-cooler-kit-for-2-0-tdi-mk7-platform-engines.html?srsltid=AfmBOoptdAo6924soJogjStMEQ__nO6uy9MJHxRr3ip4GMA8WlfWhXDz
  8. The rear brakes linkage can become seized. Take off the wheel in question and work the cable, clean it off etc. Failing that, take out the pads, clean off the calliper and wind it back (using a calliper wind-back tool) two turns, reassemble with some brake paste and try again.
  9. Have a look at the coolant package as a whole. I think the TDI190's have a larger cooler group in general - I know the coolant rad is larger and I suspect the oil cooler is also larger.
  10. Hello all, That's my 2019 Skoda Octavia L&K away. Its been emotional. The car was sat on the driveway 99% of the time, so its time it went to a new home. I will be visiting less often, but that doesn't mean I will completely disappear. The thing that spooked me; it had a Skoda warranty and repaired as such, but air conditioning compressor had failed, and the front calliper had failed. That bill came to £2500 for Skoda Financial Services. Its almost a 7 year old car. Somebody will enjoy it - it will probably be advertised online soon. I've had a MK2 Octavia Scout [Barnie Rubble/Trouble], a MK3 Octavia Scout [Hewie], a MK3 Octavia VRS TSI 230 [Red Run], a MK3 VRS TDI190 [probably my favourite VRS - it sat on the autobahn for 12hrs doing 130mph all day - didn't miss a beat] a MK3 Octavia 4x4 VRS [less said on that one the better], a MK3 Octavia Scout TDI190 [Silver] and my Octavia L&K TSI190 [UJE]. I'm taking a break from Skoda ownership for now. I've also got a personalised numberplate for sale too.
  11. I suggest you get an SD card for the car. Look for part: 5L0051236C or part 5E0051236G
  12. Okay - you are looking for part: 2Q0121321A - something like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153794174439 This is an OE cap. Its available at any Skoda, VW, Audi or Seat dealer.
  13. oh dear - I think your vehicle needs the uprated radiator that is found on the TDI190's. The TDI150's got a smaller radiator and whilst it isn't a problem if you aren't towing, its becomes a problem that the extra heat generated from the engine cannot be cooled quick enough with the smaller rad. Upgrade your cooling package to that of a TDI190 and your problems will go away. If you go for a towbar via Skoda, the installation costs include a new radiator for this precise issue.
  14. Undertray - its missing some bolts and flapping in the breeze and making a humming noise
  15. Have a chat with @pab567 who can hopefully point you in the right direction.
  16. This can be adjusted - from 10,000 miles to 20000 miles (long life servicing).
  17. IF you go to Vehicle-> Settings -> Service Information; it should tell you which one it is tripping up on. It will be either unhappy with the Oil Service not being done or the Inspection Service not being done.
  18. They should be fine; although I would probably recommend the Draper Rewind tool - better quality: https://www.tooltime.co.uk/products/draper-brake-caliper-wind-back-tool-with-right-hand-thread-dr-74289
  19. You need a combustion Leak test as a bare minimum. Suspect oil is bypassing and getting into the cooling system....which means new cylinder head gasket most likely. Also do a borescope to check for coolant in the cylinders too (by pressuring the header tank and finding which one is leaking into the cylinders)
  20. Piston rings being stuck is a thing; especially if the oil hasn't been changed regularly enough. Some TDI's are known for this. First thing I would do is: get a borescope examination done of the cylinders. Then get a compression test done of each cylinder. For the low pressure light to come on, it would point to me that either there isn't enough pressure being made in the block, you have a blown PCV valve or the Turbo is bypassing oil (through worn bearings). None of this is terminal - the only thing that is terminal is if the cylinder walls are heavily scored, then either its a rebore/oversized piston time or new short-block time.
  21. It will probably be the flap motor that has failed. Connecting up a scanner (VCDS or ODBEleven) will give you the codes to confirm. Its a relatively easy fix. Common fault. Other things to check: make sure you have removed the Silica bag from the header tank and if the coolant looks a horrible sludgy brown colour- i.e. not pink, it is also possible that the silica bag has burst and has blocked up the cabin heat exchanger.
  22. Yes - I agree with @langers2k ; if you stick with the 16G card, download ECE Zone 6 which should hopefully cover everything you need.
  23. The solution is that you get the latest European maps on a 32G SD Card - you are looking for part: 5L0051236AD or ED https://www.satnavcard.co.uk/product-page/skoda-sd-card-2026-for-mib2-amundsen-sat-nav-5lo-051-236-eg - there are probably cheaper options out there
  24. I just re-read the OP posting; whilst there are no warning lights, what we don't have is a proper scan of the car. Its all very well saying, there are no errors, but all cars will come with issues and dealerships (often IMHO) don't read the codes. Can you get an ODBEleven dongle onto the car, read the codes and post them up here pls?
  25. All MK3 Octavia VRS diesels are 2.0TDI - VRS model are typically 180-190bhp. 1.5TSI engines are not put into the VRS; DSG gearboxes are fine, but make sure they have been serviced at 40k miles (DQ250 - 6 speed) or 80k (DQ381-7 speed).
