  1. Had mine for about 3 weeks now, just had it serviced, runs like a dream, good fuel consumption, goes like a train when needed, not too small, not too big, everything I will ever need/want in a car.
  2. Just done a 300 mile round trip in mine today, some local roads, mostly motorway driving as fast as allowed (mostly...) 47.2 mpg, pretty happy all things considered.
  3. It has taken me 5 years to find an NHS Dentist.... I could probably afford private treatment, but why should I have to pay for a dentist to drive a Bentley.? My 'new' practice hasn't a European dentist in the building.......Bolivian, yup, some other South American countries as well, I don't care,,,come from where ever you like, fix my teeth, and I love you...
  4. The very sad truth I am afraid.....
  5. Not from her point of view at all Paul.. When she works along side £40 an hour agency nurses, who are lazy, can't speak English properly, and are mates of mates who own agencies, or opposed to working in an Hospice giving care to the terminally ill, who appreciate the care, for the minimum wage...guess where she would rather work....a sad indictment really
  6. The mad Wife is on the verge of quitting working for the NHS, after a long number of years because of the stupid amount of wastage in all areas, plus the 'favours for friends 'mentality' that is rife in her area, she is much better off working in the private sector, which is a shame, as it is such a magnificent 'thing' that is being spoilt by so many factors ( I am sure you are aware of its deficiencies...)
  7. Just been to the dentist for the first time in 10 years ( not entirely my fault, but a long story...) I had a quote from a private practice for approx £15 to fix my teeth.....yup £15k Half way through my treatment now, total cost so far.....less than £100. I don't mind paying into this club, and despite having 2 teeth pulled and 2 fillings, I feel great, and can manage a half smile ( which is 50% better then normal..) Don't complain folks, we all benefit in one way or another.
  8. Other colours of shoe polish are available............lol My daft dog would love cream leather seats, well he loves mud, and water and fox sh!t, and watching me trying to clean up his devastation, I always practice on the wifes car, and trust me , it works.
  9. I live next door to his granddaughter ( she is 90 ) she is just as much a miserable old sod as he was.......( truth...he wasn't a recluse as legend says, he was just a tightwad Yorkshireman..)
  10. Daft as it sounds, try black shoe polish, with a very soft brush or duster, then buff up.A cheap and effective way of refurbing seats ( think of your scruffy leather shoes and how they look better after a good polish.)
  11. I bought some Sherbert lemons the other day, they weren't Sherberty or Lemoney, however the Chocolate Lime replacements were both, ( yes, you've guessed it.....) I'm going now for alcohol, before this gets silly...... I prefer Ginger Nuts as a treat really.....( don't go there...) Dave likes them as well.
  12. Been drinking Amanda ? Try new improved wine gums, if grapes could poo, that is them.
  13. Discs are surprisingly easy to remove, it's usually just one screw holding them on, the wheel bolts secure them really. i can do most stuff, but due to a very fragile back, and admitted indolence, I find it easier to pay someone else to do it. the discs and pads sound reasonable, but if you can do the pads, you can do the discs to be honest. Google a 'how to' you can sit in the warmth of your house for 10 minutes, makes notes, and save £70, for an hours work. Try Trundlenuts suggestion first, and potentially save yourself £150. HTH
  14. I feel your pain as regards spending, but to be fair, if your pads are nearly new, keep the pads, unless they are visibly scored/unevenly worn, and discs are cheap enough really, and not a pain to fit yourself ( unless you are too lazy, like me ) . Unfortunately, all the crap seems to come at once, doesn't it ?
  15. No, there is no option, it drives me mad.....unless of course i was driving abroad then I would welcome it, swings and roundabouts I suppose, unless I never go abroad, then it would drive me mad, until the day i decide to go abroad, then I would welcome it........ Unless you have it vcds, then it can be altered.
  16. Sounds like you are having a tough time or about to have one, best of luck, at least you won't have to worry about running a Jag. Every cloud etc etc....
  17. Yes they can. Either drive at 49mph or 71mph. If you know your discs are warped, why not change them ? Not being funny, but they can either kill you or save your life, for the sake of a few quid, I know which I'd prefer...
  18. Don't buy new ones, just prep and paint the old ones, it will be a damn sight cheaper, and longer lasting before they rust again.
  19. Bugger.......I hope you get sorted soon, and have paid for Christmas.
  20. Not a chance of getting a warranty claim, it's not really an issue ( apart from the aesthetics ) if it they bother you, just sort them yourself, I appreciate they look a tad 'not new' but unless the hubs are stainless steel, it's going to happen.
  21. What make/model car is it ? My daughter has a 2 year old Peugeot 208 that randomly throws warning lights at her, it's been checked and all is fine, it's just a French thing, it sulks for a bit, then shrugs its shoulders and carries on.
  22. I was once stopped behind a car at traffic lights that had no rear lights working ( it was dark, and i could tell the headlights were on ) so doing the gentlemanly thing, I got out and rapped on the window to inform the driver. It turned out it was my ex whatever, she just said 'I'm not speaking to you, you are an arsehole, I thought you loved me.....) She did have a nice front, but her rear was better viewed in the dark, so I just thought, fair enough, so a 50/50 result really...
  23. 29th February...... I've just been told that I am a lot older than my 60 year old mates mum ffs....( she is celebrating her coming of age today ).......she is 'younger' than my daughter !
  24. Just discovered a Jon Anderson LP on You Tube that I bought new many many years ago......Olias of Sunhillow, the wife is away, beer in the fridge, dog snoring, that's me for the next hour or so, I might wake the neighbours up though.....bliss.....much pleasure for a middle aged man......I can't say how happy I am....so many memories of youth long gone
  25. Stay in the EU, but have Yorkshire as a separate country.....win win ( we would do well at the Olympics anyway....)
