  1. I have bought a couple of Kas' for the daughter in the past, and to me and for her they were a cheap 'learn to drive' car, they did their job, taught her how do drive and fell to bits...she badly bumped one, and the other disintegrated...I used to buy and sell, but now just can't do with the hassle. personally I would stick to Japanese, i.e. Micras, and /or VAG diesels, either bodywork repairs, or cheap part fixes. I appreciate peoples circumstances are different, but for less than a grand, that is definately banger territory. When I was learning to drive, I either had my mums Opel Kadett, or my instructors Talbot Sunbeam....hey, I passed my test, heavy steering, or just a sh!t car, it didn't make a difference, although the Kadett was passed down and lasted over 20 years. Crack on fella, best of luck.
  2. What happened to the chubby bloke with the bald head who has a son who is a drummer in a rock band ? he likes rallying and silly stuff, and was both entertaining, and informative ? I liked him...he might be dead now.....bring him back anyway..
  3. After messing you about now, offer to buy the car back for £500 as a take it or leave it deal, if they refuse, tell them to do one, or you will bill them for your wasted time, then set your dog on them, and never buy another Ka.
  4. That's a bugger, we are just about to re-vamp our bathroom, and these would be ideal, but you live too far away.....can you move 150 miles nearer please....
  5. Just got 200 yards from home about 20 minutes ago, road closed by at least a 3 car pile up, the nice copper was very apologetic, and said I had to make a 3 mile detour....the copper said there were cars all over the place, but no-one was seriously hurt thankfully, and hinted that 'yoofs 'were involved..
  6. Isn't fit to lick his boots...
  7. I've never met him, but I imagine he is a true Gent. he seems to be what we expect in a professional footballer.Plus he was bloody good at his job.
  8. I'm sure he used to be taller, unless you are 6' 7"......
  9. I had my heart set on an Insomnia, until I drove one........
  10. The new improved Mr Grumpy.........less hair, less money, less attitude, and better teeth.....
  11. Yup, one small shopping bag, with 3 things in it, into town 3 times a day, every day.....I understand that people get lonely, and staying in means having the heating and lighting on thus costing money, but they sure do drive you mad......
  12. I could do Glamping, if anyone has a spare Yurt........
  13. She will be shopping for the last tin of peas on the planet, to supplement the other 37 tins of peas in her pantry, 'just in case'.......
  14. Depending on work, I might make the effort, if only to make you jealous....
  15. Personally I would go for the DSG, I drove the daughters manual Pug today, and found it a pain, the quick, smooth change of my Fabia makes it a pleasure to drive, and I can never be in the wrong gear.
  16. Not wanting to **** on your bonfire fella but, your Scout is worth about £4k.............unless you are very very lucky...
  17. Get a grip, start looking for nappies and bibs and condoms instead of messing about with your car.......
  18. She is actually very intelligent ( honours degree & other stuff ) she is just a sh!t driver ( although she somehow manages a 150 mile daily commute ) I think it's passed down, her mother hasn't had a bump for at least 12 months, so it's her turn, as long as it's not mine.....
  19. Personally, i would just drive the car for a couple of months, then decide which bits need upgrading to suit your driving style. It it too easy to spend money on these things, and end up in a money pit. They are a fun car 'out of the box' I wouldn't go overboard tbh.
  20. Just fit uprated pads, and new discs, on the front, and make sure the rears work ok ( they get very little use, so seized calipers can happen ) Discs are cheap enough nowadays...Your main problem will be the silly dmf clutch, and of course the soggy suspension....
  21. I used to care about the noise my car made, but honestly after having my recent car for a bit, I like the 'stealth' mode it has, it means I can sneak up on unsuspecting ditherers, whilst still being aware of oncoming power........
  22. It looks like the wayward daughter has inherited her mothers stupidity gene. She has bumped her car for the second time this week, and made a right mess of it. Fortunately no other living thing was involved, and both times her fault entirely. Her once pristine Pug 208, not quite 3 years old, looks older than me, and has considerably more scratches and cracks and dents.....bah ! Bank of dad is deffo not paying this time........
