  1. What's it like doing the rear discs on a mk3? On the mk2 it was a bloody nightmare as there was hardly any access to get at the caliper bolts.
  2. Mine took about a week. Changed a few things, mostly with the apps. but did the HBA speed activate/deactivate in the adaptions and both rear foglights and cornering fog lights. Wouldn't mind going for the high intensity rear brake light where when you really stamp on the brakes (emergency stop) the hazards light up as well. It says it's not supported though.
  3. I remember too when doing the discs on my mk2 vrs that the ones that needed angular torque were meant to be renewed as they were supposedly 'stretch bolts'.
  4. Was going to say they probably have angular torque as well. Don't know if I would recommend using a torque wrench as a breaker bar.
  5. Yeh bit of a palm face moment,I was looking for it within 'central electrics' when I realised it was a module of it's own I got there in the end.
  6. Yes as I have lane assistant. I used the one touch apps already today to activate HBA and the HBA memory, was just hoping there would be one for the activation speed. Was trying following this from the ODB forum. Got as far as 11 ok then got lost as I couldn't find 'control unit'. If I knew where to look for it I would have thought I could start straight from stage 17 as I've already got HBA installed now. This is what I did to get HBA working on my 2016 vRS: High Beam Assist (for cars with Lane Assist Camera): Ensure light switch is in the OFF position, wipers not on auto, doors closed and ignition on, before starting

Remember to select the green tick at each stage of the adaption, otherwise the changes you've made won't stick. Read more: http://forum.obdeleven.com/thread/2106/high-beam-assist-traffic-recognition#ixzz571fsXpIr
  7. I should be so lucky, just a lowly farmworker here. Probably explains why I'm very competent at this sort of thing. Think I'll wait till the apps appear before I royally **** something up.
  8. It just seems to make no sense they have apps for the high beam assist and high beam assist memory but not the activation speed. I just tried to follow a set of instructions I found on the ODBeleven boards, got to stage 12 where it says control unit A5 and that was me lost as I couldn't find it.
  9. Got my ODBeleven at the weekend so been trying a few bits out via the apps. Very surprised and disappointed that by now there isn't an app for the HBA speed activation and deactivation or one for double rear fogs, cant believe that these aren't among the most popular things that people want to do.
  10. Probably doing a DPF regen so maybe it's set to not stop if that is going on. Just a guess.
  11. My bad, found it myself on Google. This is telling you how many litres to get it to full again.
  12. Just to be sure we're talking about the same thing. This is the 'range' left when you scroll through the maxidot via the steering wheel. Don't think the previous owners of mine were into coding extra bits on, christ the Columbus was still on 2014 maps and 0292 firmware.
  13. Surprised the refuel level isn't on there anyway on an SEL,it's a spec above the VRs isn't it? I have it on my Vrs and I had it on my mk2 vrs as well.
  14. Is that plug position where it has always been or did you put it there to get a better photo of it? If it had naturally fallen out of the connector it would never have ended up there.
  15. A bit puzzled myself on this when checking back on the services done on my recently bought vrs before I got it. It's got a print out of what was used for it's 20,000 service at 2 years old (was actually only at 14,200 miles by then) and it's got written down as having 2 1.5l bottles of G13 coolant. Which alludes to it have having a complete coolant change for some reason. It's longlife coolant so I can't believe it needs changing every 2 years. Perhaps it had a leak somewhere (waterpump?) that needed sorting. The service record doesn't give any other detail other than a 20,000 miles service. One other part number that was used was ZGB00S507001K but a google search comes up with nothing so god knows what that was.
  16. Why are they doing away with them then? Not enough being sold or bringing out a more powerful one? Out of interest did they stick the bigger front brake discs back on these? I think I'm right in remembering reading on here that after a while they started putting smaller discs on the petrol mk3 VRs.
  17. All updated to 411 and working fine. Strangely it's changed the last 'device part number' from B to C. Thanks to Toshy for the link and others for answers given.
  18. That is shocking behaviour by the dealer and should be bloody reported for such actions. Problem is people not really clued up will be taken in by it and needlessly taken for a ride.
  19. Is this the version that will put up an error message when it's hooked up to this VCDS that people use? If you're just using the Columbus normally there are no errors coming up on the screen?
  20. As title really. Just recently bought a '63 Octavia Vrs TDi and although it doesn't have HBA it does have the Lane Assist, which I believe from reading on here means that HBA can be activated. Are dealers likely to be willing to turn these extra things on? I could then ask them to do that whilst getting them to update the Columbus to the latest firmware. Currently got 0292 which is god knows how many versions old. The maps were still from 2014 when I got it so I take it the 0292 firmware is from the same vintage?
  21. My biggest concern about the firmware update is the source of it. It isn't coming from Skoda is it? or is being copied from someone who has got an official update and then releasing it online? The maps went in no problem at all and in just over an hour.
  22. I've got the latest maps from the Skoda portal (25gb's worth) onto an SD card, how long does it usually take to update once plugged into the unit? Don't want to start it now if it's going to take a few hours to do. SD card is a Sandisk 32gb 'extreme plus' if that will make any difference in the time.
  23. Put my VIN number in earlier '63 (december) plate Octavia VRS (CUPA engine) and apparently it's not affected. Even if it had been I wouldn't have had the 'fix'.
  24. Thanks for the contact details. I just want to see if there is any mention of checking if vehicle needs any software updates in there. They state in an 'interim service' it will get the following "Vehicle & software enhancements from ŠKODA’s database". You would have thought with the premium you pay for buying from a Skoda dealership that items like the infotainment systems should be checked and updated. The one I've just got at the weekend the salesman made a big point about it having the Columbus in it but on checking the system info it's software is version 0292 (old version I take it) and the maps are from 2014. It's had a service every year (4) and been through the 'approved' multi check and looks like it's never been updated.
  25. Skoda dealers use this as a selling point to buy a used Skoda from them but is there actually a list anywhere of exactly what is checked?
