KPH/MPH
Was this "Kate Laws" by any chance? I've been told by my current Skoda UK guy that she'll be taking on "a number of cases" so maybe they'll actually call me for once!

I asked HJ if there was any news and got the following: So no news I guess

Has anyone had any updates from either Skoda or HJ?

Album cover art in digi cockpit?
I've got a 12 Pro. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've used Spotify, Audible and Overcast and none of them seem to work more or less than any of the others. I'd assume it works with the radio but I rarely use that

Uncommanded activation of Siri
Yeah, I've deactivated Laura but have Apple Carplay going pretty much all the time. A dhort press of the button on the wheel will activate Laura when I want it but if you press and hold the voice assist button then it will activate Siri.

The matrix lights look like the photo below. Make sure you enable the dynamic asist and cornering lights before trying them out and see how they do at not blinding oncoming drivers. It sounds like you've got pretty much exactly the same car as I have but I've been having major problems with mine as seen in the video below:

Xenon lights always had it. At least they did on my old Yeti

Uncommanded activation of Siri
I've had a bunch of issues with my car (described elsewhere) but this is more of a weird one. A couple of times now, I've had a fault where Siri will activate every time I turn the wheel to the right. Left has no effect and holding the voice control button activates Siri as normal but every time I turn the wheel to the right, Siri starts and expects me to say something. The fault usually resets whenever I leave the car and start the car again. While it's happening, it can be quite distracting, especially when driving in traffic in town (i.e. roundabouts etc.) Anybody else experienced this or is this just another feature of my car?

Travel Mode
That's what the yoof at my garage suggested but mine seems to go from left to right hand ok. Matrix lights don't work and I've got the kph/mph and miles/km problems. The sooner they actually take this thing back the better

DANGEROUS Skoda Octavia emergency brake/crash assist, lucky to be alive....may not be so lucky next time!!!!!
If it's less than a month old then write to the garage and tell them you are rejecting the car. Do it now (tonight) Your right to reject is strongest in the first month

https://www.bbc.co.uk/send/u23123288 That's the link I used. As for getting your money back, I've been waiting nearly 6 weeks since I first told them I wanted to reject it, although around 5 since I sent a letter saying so. They're still delaying and it's really putting me off. I was willing to go with another Skoda back then but I really don't want to deal with them or my local garage any more.

I sent a quick email to BBC Watchdog this morning and had a call back to discuss. Has anyone else contacted them? If not, it might be worth dropping them a line too

Don't expect a quick response. My dealer has been in touch with the executive office for a few weeks now and they've agreed in principle to my rejecting the car. That was on March 1st and I'm still waiting. To say the least, I am not impressed. Hopefully HJ can kick them up the rear and make them do something. Has anyone contacted any of the other press consumer columnists?

ACC misbehaving
I'd report it to the dealer in writing and ask them to investigate.

HAD ENOUGH
I posted this in another thread a while ago but this review on YouTube seemed to have a model that was affected by the bug. Relevant bit starts at 2:04

Is that the 10" screen or the 8" one?

Yep, that's definitely an Octavia IV

I had a new one yesterday. I got a bunch of warnings about the rear collision system not working and then I was told that PDC wasn't working either. When I tried, there was an exclamation mark in the front and rear of the car. It stayed the same after I stopped and started the car but was cleared on a reboot.

Collective Action Octavia First Edition
I don't think anyone is talking about class action, only collective action. i.e. Acting together to show any press / PR that we speak to that this isn't an isolated problem in the hope the Skoda / VW get a good kick up the jacksie

Collective Action Octavia First Edition
If you press `settings then go to units, you should see an option to select speed in either mph or kph

Collective Action Octavia First Edition
Can you change the units on the dash speedo from mph to kph?

Collective Action Octavia First Edition
I think it's important that they are forced to do something about this. I've formally rejected my SEL FE and they've accepted in principle. Now I just have to wait while everyone at Skoda and VWFS talk to each other so that I can get rid of it. It's a shame as I've owned Skodas without issue since 2007.

I wonder if anyone has a first edition without the faults?

Octavia Pro, extra 44mm in back seats, but for China
It's a bit easier to access without looking as it's a seperate part of the unit. You can also adjust temperature by swiping (you don't need to be laser accurate on the right area of the screen) and control the heated seats by tapping with 2 fingers. Aside from that, no difference
