Would this theory about putting the better tread on the rear not apply anymore due to Abs,ebd and the like. I can't remember the last time a car stepped out on me on the rear. I always put the best tread on the front, as said above, they do all the work.

Just saw a picture of the new Toyota C-HR. Well what can I say, it's fu@@ing dangerous in my eyes. The rear door handle are far to high (top of door) the rear windows are so small not even a child could use them as an emergency exit if ever needed. What was Toyota thinking and it looks like the Renault Kadjur.

There's also a V6 octy 4x4.

The heater blower fan sits behind the glovebox. It's easy to take out, lift a tab and rotate then pull out. You will be able to check for rubbing then.

We considered an edge recently when looking for a new car. Settled on an s-max, for the price and all the extras on it, it was to good to miss.

Fancy an immediate 10% return on your money?

Why would you hope he is in TROUBLE. -
Without even searching for a price, that's looks like a bargain for everything you get in it. I've seen prices for cars with only about 50bhp more and twice the price.

Drop the under tray, you will have lots of access then.

The 'three child seats across' club

Park in the parent and child spaces, huge amounts of room. Nobody ever gives you a second look because they presume you have kids anyway.- 40 replies

VRS Climatronic Blower Fan not working
meta55b replied to PeteTurton12's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Is there not a problem with resistors on the fan units. Does the fan come with a new one. -
The 'three child seats across' club
meta55b replied to CainDingle's topic in General Automotive Chat
This topic was one of my main considerations when looking for a new car, that's why I chose the 2015 on ford s-max. The problem you have when there is 3 kids seats in the middle is, the 3rd row becomes obsolete.- 40 replies

Police Officer Causing Death by Drink Driving Case
meta55b replied to FUBAR's topic in Off Topic Chat
For what this person has "allegedly" done, there is no excuse for drink or drug driving and taking a life makes it even more harder to swallow. Along with any conviction they will receive, I'm also interested as to why they were driving in this state. Having been an undertaker for 9 years in my last job, I saw a lot of things that could make a grown man cry just at the sight of it and known of a few people in the trade who would turn to drink as a coping mechanism. Could this have been the same reason for the PC, considering what the police have to deal with every day. -
Sales of goods act overrides any dealers policy, fit for purpose and failed attempts to fix.

Tyre Pressure Monitor. What else.

Tyre Pressure Monitor. What else.
meta55b replied to AccoSnr's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Putting how the TPM works aside, how could you not visually see that the tyre was under inflated. It would of only had about 12/13 psi in it and look flat.- 33 replies

I bought the exact same one from Costco. With the metre long extending hose and the 3 different attachments, it's great for nipping out to the car for a quick clean up after a journey.

Knocking noise rear of car Octavia vrs 2008
meta55b replied to snowchudd's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I had a noise on mine recently, it turned out to be a 6" heat shield on the rear subframe that protects a bit of brake pipe from heat were the exhaust goes over the top of it. You will have to jack the car up or put it on ramps to see the part I'm on about, the spring clips that held in place had rusted away and was just sitting there rattling. How it neve fell of I don't know, I did a 2000 mile round trip to France and back. -
I thought I was the black sheep of the forum by buying a Ford. Happy the read I'm not a alone In my disappointment with Skoda having owned one for 8 years. The difference between my s-max and the octy is night and day even against the new Octavia's I had test driven. Tyre noise, what tyre noise, even with 19" wheels. Would have bought a mondeo but the roof was to low in the back for the kids cyber car seats and needed a big boot.

Mechatronic Failure - a word of caution
meta55b replied to HoopsIRL's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
This is one of the reasons I replaced my octy Vrs with another manufacturer. I'm just not impressed with Skoda anymore, bit sad really, the octy gave me 8 years trouble free motoring. -
Ok cheers, will give them a phone on Monday.

Is there any way that you can find out your car has been giving the up-date. Mines has not long had a service, the engine has a totally different characteristic.

I Need Help & Advice Please.
meta55b replied to BLUETFSi's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
There's a VAG specialist in Edinburgh, don't remember the name. They have a good reputation. -
On the original, hex on the nissen pump. Got a bit confused lol.

Have you ever been the highlands in winter. Not that icy, I've seen engine core plugs blowing out the block and that's when the antifreeze has a -20c reading on it.
