  1. So recently had to do a hard reset on my Infotainment unit, phone wouldn't start up and was just sat in "waiting" anyway the hard reset sorted that, it also did an update when restarting too, but I believe as a result of the hard reset and maybe the update, I'm now getting the "s-pin not set" warning message on the "don't forget your belongings" closing screen. I can't remember see it before. So I went in to my user profile, which is the primary user profile and turned on the s-pin protection, not realising that this meant every time the Infotainment unit starts I need to enter the s-pin, when entering it you can tick a box to remember your s-pin so you don't need to enter it each time, but this turns of the s-pin protection so you get the s-pin warning when the Infotainment unit is turning off!! Literally going around in circles!! Is this normal and I've just missed the message before? is it the consequence of the update? Or am I missing something when trying to set the s-pin not to be used every time? Cheers
  2. Phone call at 3:30 to say it's done and ready to pick up, job for tomorrow morning, that's less than 36 hours, only got fo drive the Audi home and now to Skoda, Skoda are even going to arrange the pick up of the Audi with Enterprise!!
  3. Waiting for them to ring me about when they expect the parts!!
  4. Update, car went in today, they looked at the photos I'd taken of what the AA had found, said they'd never seen that fault on such a new Skoda before. Got picked up by Enterprise and have a nice Audi S3 24 plate DSG sat on the drive now. Thought they take advantage of the 48 hours they had to get their diagnostics done, but by 1:30 got a phone call from Skoda to say they'd done their tests and they couldn't find anything more than the AA had diagnosed, their only problem was because of how the pipes were situated it was hard to tell if it was just the bottom union leaking, or the top union leaking on top of the bottom union without stripping both out, so with that in mind they're replacing both unions which include the pipes fitted to them too!! Also because it's gone through Skoda Assist they have to have the car repaired with 24hours of getting the parts, obviously we have to take as gospel when the parts come in stock. Must say that for me Skoda Assist have been great, so far!!
  5. I've had this already, had to chase my dealer up, even though Skoda Assist told me the dealer should ring by midday, they have no courtesy cars available so got to have an Enterprise hire car, which I'm not particularly impressed with, especially as it means being picked up at my dealers by an Enterprise driver, and driven back to their office to sign the paperwork, and then the point your referring to, they have 48 hours to diagnose the problem, I questioned this as I was told if I called Skoda Assist, the AA would diagnose the problem and recommend if it needed to go to Skoda, the other option was to wait till the middle of July for their first free diagnostic appointment!! They said they can't go by the AA diagnosis and needed to do their own, only bonus is it's now 48hours and not 4 weeks!! And although they have the AA diagnosis, which it obviously is, they can't give me a time as to when the car will be repaired, I fear this is going to get tricky!!
  6. The AA man believe they probably damaged the O-ring when they were building the car and it's most likely always been like it.
  7. So after owning my 2024 Superb for a few months, imagine my horror when the low coolant warning came on and I needed to top the cooling up with over 500ml of water, even more worrying when I'd gone through a similar issue my 2017 Superb that ended up being the EGR cooler, so after another 350miles and the level had gone down slightly, rang my local Skoda today to book it in to be checked, they couldn't see it for a few weeks but advised me to call Skoda Assist and get the AA to check it out, and then they'd have to arrange to have it in within 48 hours, so did just that, AA came out within the hour, pressure tested the system which seemed to be holding but found the leak, a very slight weep on the heater exchange connection on the bulkhead, looks like it been weeping for months, if not since manufacturing and just topped up by the previous owner. Should get a phone call tomorrow for them to book it in and give me a courtesy car, Impressed with Skoda Assist and the AA.
  8. As far as I'm aware, from buying my previous Superb, the cooling mod is only needed on a 2.0TDi, 190/200bhp, DSG, 4x4, I know this because I was looking at one that exact spec and asked Skoda for a quote for a Towbar and the computer said NO, much to their surprise, it was when they looked in to it they found that this specific engine, gearbox and drivetrain needed a cooling mod fitted on the production line to be ready for a Towbar to be fitted. I dropped the 4x4 and then they could get a quote, used an independent Towbar specialist anyway.
  9. I tow a caravan, so had a TowTrust removable towbar fitted by a local towbar specialist, had one on my previous Superb too, does exactly what you'd expect a towbar to do very well and its easy to use too. Specialist used a full dedicated wiring kit and it was properly coded in to the car too, so shows the indicator warning on the dash, when in reverse a picture of the car shows on infotainment screen with a caravan hitched up, the rear sensors disabled but the fronts still active. Also switches of the rear fog light and I also believe the reverse lights too, as well as disabling the car blind spot warning system. All for just over £700. I enquired at Skoda when I was buying the car and the saleswoman told me to get an independent quote because Skoda quote by the hour, it would be silly money and it would be a lot cheaper.
  10. Hi all, looking for a bit of help, I have the full touch screen infotainment system, the Columbus I believe. Only a year old. I've tried a couple of different USB sticks for my music files, USB2 and USBC, different memory sizes as I'd read they can struggle with large sized USB sticks, tried to get as fast a read rate as possible but I'm still having problems with my music not playing without jumping or pausing, which I find a bit strange as its solid state. Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone found a solution? Cheers
  11. Hi all, I'm currently using the USB2 port in the centre armrest storage are for my music memory card, I occasionally get stuttering on it and can only think it's due to the read speed of the USB card, which is 10MPS. Is there a minimum USB read speed for the infotainment unit? Or would I be better using a USB/C port?
  12. Cool, thanks, now a question if I can put it back without removing the bumper!!🫤
  13. I got the wipe and a small vial of 3m 94 tape primer, I used it as they'd sent it, My badge came of fairly easy with dental floss, just used Autoglym tar remover for the old adhesive and a plastic razor blade, which worked out really well.
  14. Hi Zacko, Sorry but nothing to do with your post, just a quick question. After having a towbar fitted I had a rattle behind the bumper, after a quick inspection I found the plug for the rear parking sensors hanging down and what looks like a clip on it for it to clip in a hole on the body work, I think it's the one I have circled in your photo. Not sure they didn't if the hole isn't accessible with the type of aftermarket towbar I have, they are normally very good so I'll be surprised if they missed it. Am I right, should it be clip securely in to the body
  15. Looking good.👍 Yep, definitely worth a test fit after removing the old adhesive. For a supposed original part I was surprised by the longer pegs. Although the extras you get from Kopacek to fit it is pretty good too. It's definitely going nowhere.
  16. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone had changed the rear bumper refectors for the dark monte carlo ones? I've seen a set on Kopacek and think they'll look smart on my race blue Superb. I know there's some legal requirement in the UK for the refectors to be reflective enough and the description on Kopacek says that the dark ones are almost as reflective as the normal ones. Has anyone fitted any? And if so how did you get on with MOT?
  17. That should be fine, I have a removable Towtrust swan neck towbar on my Superb. An Alko hitch will fit any swan neck towball, it's only when you have a flanged towball you have to have the Alko extended towball, on a normal flanged towball the Alko hitch can prise itself off when moving. Also remember to remove the paint from the ball as it will contaminate the Alko friction pads if you don't
  18. Done, nerve-wracking but done, weirdly had to cut the 3 prongs down as they were way too long for the divots in the bonnet, but apart from that, it went well. colour match it perfect too. 😁
  19. Yeah, I can see those prongs on the new badge, hoping to work my way around the badge to remove most of the adhesive. Cheers for the advice. 👍
  20. Cheers, I went back on Kopacek and found the fitting instructions, which I managed to miss the first time around, Like you said I need both products, I also have autoglym tar remover already, which is decent stuff so was hoping to use that to get rid of the sticky backing. Did you use the "hairdryer and dental floss" method to remove the old badge?
  21. Hi guys got my race blue and black badge today, with it came a vile of 3m tape adhesive and a L151 wipe, firstly I believe they do the same thing so not sure if I need both. This is the first time I swapped a badge on a car so a bit apprehensive. To those who have done it, have you any tips for removing the old badge and adhesive, and also before fitting the new badge, do I need to use both products provided to prime the area or just one of those, I'm veering towards the 3m adhesive. Cheers all
  22. Out with old red, in with the new blue!😁
  23. Yes, through the links given in the thread I started
  24. Had my Sportline Plus less than two weeks and in that time I've changed the floor mats to the thicker Superb embossed ones, fitted front and rear mud flaps, changed the washer filler cap to the funnel type, changed the rear wiper arm to the old type and changed all the wipers to new, also had a removable towbar fitted, And have ordered the black and body matched colour badge for the bonnet. Oh and washed it twice thanks to our bloody British weather. It was ceramic coated when I bought it which makes cleaning it so much easier!
