  1. I wouldn't think too hard, iirc it was coming up Washway Road from Sale. Back seat passenger took the photo. Honest, Officer.
  2. You're right, TL:DR. But the world is your lobster. Don't buy a house at 25, they're a ****ing liability. You want to be enjoying yourself.
  3. Looks like it's the one I posted in the first reply :p The only fault I can say is that due to its intelligent steam function it is not hot enough to apply iron on name labels for my kids clothes. However it has never come up short in ironing garments.
  4. This one? There's also a blue one I've seen a few times that is TE51 AMY which seems strained at best, Tesla My?
  5. Last time we needed an iron we decided to spend £60-70 on just an iron. The first time my wife used it she said it's no better than the previous one. She took it back and got one of these http://www.johnlewis.com/philips-gc8616-30-perfectcare-aqua-pressurised-steam-generator-iron/p1607357?sku=233486770&kpid=233486770&s_kenid=a6c50b43-06e6-4375-90e0-4b903e0b3622&s_kwcid=402x386664&tmad=c&tmcampid=73 It is much better to use and makes ironing much easier. It even survived being dropped in the floor off a high window sill. Still a lot of money for an iron though.
  6. Quite. The only thing about our Ignis that I don't not like is the engine sound. Although that's wasted on the automatic gearbox...My similarly sized petrol four just makes white noise.
  7. There was little old me still holding a candle for Jay Leno. Shame. That's easily my favourite Top Gear episode. The Bathurst, Jay Leno, Aston and Brian Eno. this new line up looks like it was designed by committee for maximum commercial appeal. The BBC must have run out of boxes to tick. I was ok with Evan and Joey and taking it from there.
  8. You'll be applying for the next vacancy to become a employee then?
  9. I think the doubling of insurance cost is an ample motivation. But then waht? I don't need to go to a doctor for him/her to tell me I am overwieght and how I should sort the problem. And with the best will in the world, the majority of people will only be able to follow a plan for a period of time beofre lsoing it again. How do you turn planned, forced, deterministic behaviours into instinctive habits? Without racking up 1000 hours of driving tuition?
  10. I've dne a day out with these guys twice myself with work http://www.macdrivertraining.com/consultancy/ but its not what I'm really looking for.
  11. If you were able to explain it, you could be a very rich man.
  12. Most people cannot be motivated to sustain this hence my question. any systems/techniques for long term habitual behavioural change?
  13. Its not even that. For example, most people want to lose weight or do more exercise but fail at the behavioural changes necessary. Its about maintaining an improvement without someone there instructing/observing.
  14. Has anyone ever had any success with getting someone to improve their driving? We're not talking becoming an advanced driver, just breaking bad habits to make someone safer. How? When there's no barrier such as the driving test to prevent keeping or going back to bad habits?
  15. meh, from what I've read, I'm unconvinced about LED halogen replacements and I've actually just installed a number of integrated LED light fittings instead. We'll see what happens with their longevity. I've been really impressed by round panel LED lights as I don't like the look of spotlights. the panels give a more even spread of light and don't heat up at all.
  16. I really really want to like our Ignis but I just can't. Utterly charmless compared to the K11 micra it replaced. The only redeeming feature is the 1.5 engine which makes a great noise even if it doesn't do much else when attached to the auto box other than drink lots of petrol.
  17. I supplied the ebay rings but the rest was done by a garage. £230 for oil change, MOT, front pads and reluctor rings labour it was. Getting proper tyres so looking at £200.
  18. The Nokian coming up on blackcircles at £51 and the Vredstein Quatrac5 is £56 at Event Tyres.
  19. Good luck with that! I could do with some Ignis wheel trims and mats myself. Mine needed 2 reluctor rings and front pads to get through its MOT and now need 4 tyres. She completely lunched a good tyre by driving on it for over a mile when flat. So not exactly cheap at the moment.
  20. I've not heard of tyre leader before, they must be new. I would have preferred a suppply and fit option. Seen the Nokian coming up at around £55 each fitted. Will need to get her to ring round a bit later.
  21. Has anyone spotted anything recently? I need a full set of 14"s for my wife's Suzuki Ignis and due to low mileage, may as well go for all season tyres. Doesn't need to be fantastic, looking for mid range good value. Size is 165/70 R14. Currently got a mix of 81T and 85T.
  22. That's still an acceptable layout for a slimline washer http://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/awe6517/whirlpool-awe6517-freestanding-washing-machine Although nowadays the spin must be good enough not to need the other side. Having had experience of their appliances, when it came to buying a washing machine earlier this year, I bought a Miele.
  23. Corolla Verso looks intersting on size but has the horrid MMT gearbox.
  24. For those who suggest the Touran, there are 5 automatice cars, NATIONALLY, for less than £10k via dealers according to Autotrader And 61 Zafiras between £5k and £10k.
