Superb MK3 2.0 tdi 150 manual
Hi there. Quick question. We know what your mileage is, but what year is your car please? (Edit. Just seen.... 2020). Personally. Given the chilling response which your seller gave, I'd look to replace ASAP. This might sound academic now, as you've already bought the car, but seeing as the previous owner has had a bad experience in the past, did it not occur to him/her to replace the Timing belt rather than present the new owner with a (potential) ticking timebomb? One final thing... Please, please tell us that you managed to negotiate the purchase price down by a suitable amount to help cover the £600+ bill. Sorry I cant help with a Liverpool based specialist but I'd be really interested to hear how you got on... I've just been through the exact same thing myself . In my case the water pump just let go, which served as a timely warning to get both cambelt and WP done - this week!

Thanks so much for letting us Know ' Pre-Purchase' eRwin. I'd be very grateful if anyone on here can help please? Here's the VIN.. TMBKH7NP0H7007128 Thanks very much in advance.

Buying a Superb
I'm inclined to agree that those FB Marketplace Mileages are actual Miles and not KM, as shown, which makes you smile all the more in the knowledge that VAG Diesels, (and Petrol Engines, of course), can be, and usually are with good maintenance/treatment, pretty damn robust, and capable of Galactic Mileages! 🤩

Buying a Superb
Hi. This is just my opinion, so I'm sure that not everyone will agree. I only ever used to drive manual cars, however, my last 3 have all been VAG DSG Skoda 6 Speed. I've always been concerned about DSG Longevity, but fortunately I've had no issues to justify this. (to date). Seeing that the car which you're considering has had a lifelong Skoda history (6 DSG Oil Change Services, or thereabouts?). 250,000km = 155,000 miles... Personally that wouldn't be a problem for me at all. Hope this helps.

Good Independent Garage in or near North Essex possible new Water Pump & Cambelt
Hi cmw1965. I've decided to repsond to you quicker than the 3+ Months it took to get your last reply 🙂 I rack up miles like there was no tomorrow, generally 700 to 1000 miles per week, and In my opinion (Which I'm sure is shared with many others on this forum), The VAG TDis to tend to be pretty robust. I'm on my 7th Skoda TDi, and 4 of those have passed 130K like it was nothing. I guess it'll be down to regular servicing, regular lengthy drives, Timing belt/Waterpump changes (Which you've done recently anyway), plus DSG Fluid changes also. Just in the way of a nosey question. if you don't mind... How much did your Timing belt and Waterpump replacement cost? (feel free to PM me if your not happy posting it here). Thanks and happy motoring.

What fuel consumption are you getting please.
So for reference. I tend not to go below 75miles remaining, 40 minimum Unless I'm trying to prove a point with 'Brim to empty' Range. My receipts generally show 64-66 Litres on a Fill-up. (I'm assuming that mine is a 70 Litre Fuel Tank).

What fuel consumption are you getting please.
Your figures from a 190TDi are absolutely phenomenal! I Managed to squeeze 880 out of my 190TDi DSG, also in August.. (Range showed 15 miles left). I'd be interested to know what your winter figures look like? Mine tend to a be Night and day difference with the winter mix of fuel and colder weather. The combination of these 2 factors scrubs 100 miles off that range, for me at least.

Real MPG On Superb Diesel 1.6
So as per the OP's original question From Gammyleg's extensive data, it looks like the Superb 3 will at least equal the Golf 3's economy: Very credible performance for such an enormous car! This might seem like a silly question OP, but have you also considered an Octavia 3 1.6/Greenline? it's in-keeping yet bigger than the equivalent Golf and should be great on Fuel too.. FWIW I used to see 630+ miles easily from my old 2013 Octavia 3 1.6 Non-Greenline, and that car was fitted with the not so nice 5 speed manual gearbox. I think the 110bhp 1.6Tdi might be slightly more economical than the older 105bhp Tdi, which is what mine was...

Diesel Superb is better for the enviroment than a petrol hybrid Nissan Qashqai
Hi. Whilst the CO2 statement is true you really need to look to the N2O Figures to get the true pollution picture. Diesels really are the Devil's work when it comes to the amount of N2O which they emit into the atmosphere. HTH

TMC traffic events no longer being received...firmware update required?
Thanks chriset. There was me thinking it was just a problem with my, now old 2016 Superb 3, but I'm happy? Disappointed? to hear that its a widespread problem. I have begun to rely on this function for my long daily commutes, so I do hope that it is reinstated as soon as possible. I'll keep watching this space.

Now there's a thing... I now consider myself truly humbled. Thanks and Apologies to the OP..😟

Alloy Wheels Luxon 18" for sale (1 wheel left)
I make you right. They certainly look like Thermistos, and the Part Number seems to agree... 3T (Superb MK2)0601025H. I think the OP may have picked up that 'Luxon' description from wrongly posted info on the Net, or something similar - easily done.

Online Service Record
Thanks for the further advice nta16: I'm going to do exactly as you've suggested. I couldn't agree with this comment more... "The VWSkoda digital service record seems a ridiculously run system to me" Will report back on here.
-
Online Service Record
Thanks nta16. After reading what you written I now dont know what to ask Skoda UK? I guess I'll start with asking for a detailed breakdown of every service & see where that gets me.

Online Service Record
Great thread. Yet another added about this same repeat topic, which has many people feeling hot under the collar... I'm in the same position, and having followed the same path as @Blue55 I find it infuriating that you cannot gain access to information which is 'Technically' yours. I actually started on the process prior to buying my current car which was advertised (Private Seller), as having 'Full Dealer Service History'. The previous owner couldn't provide this information so I did loads of legwork myself pre-purchase in exchange for a lump of money off for my efforts. I didn't get everything that I wanted, but I did get enough to satisfy my curiosity before buying the car that it wasn't a crashed, clocked, un-serviced lemon. Here's my story: Chased up the Supplying Dealership with Phone calls: No response or return of calls. Chased up the supplying Dealership with an Online email Enquiry form: Guess what? No response. Went in to my Local Skoda Dealership in East London. just like with you, they would only provide me with the printout of dates: 'Service History Certificate' It's my understanding that the form shown in the pic above is called the Complete Record Report which breaks down the work carried out and parts used on those garage events? I can't see the title for obvious reasons, but if I got this wrong anyone, please feel free to chip in and correct me. I am going to get back on Skoda UKs case again next week and hound them as this is ridiculous. Good luck yourselves.

Superb Sportline
Just my take on this... I've just recently changed my Octavia 3 Estate with 18s to a Superb 3 SE L Hatch with 19s and no DCC! The Superb is in a different league for comfort compared to what I now acknowledge was an 'unrefined' ride in the Octavia (Single beam rear suspension doesn't help matters one bit). With that said, it might be that my seasoned ass is more used to discomfort than most, but I really don't think its that big of a deal... If you're in or around London or Hants and fancy a go in mine to either please, or disgust you before you pull the trigger, just let me know.
