  1. Hi. I see that it has been nearly 2 weeks since you posted. Have you bought a car yet? SE SE Technology SE Drive SE L Personally I'd go for the SE L if you can manage to find one in your price bracket. Given your Daily mileage 1.5 TSI might well fit the bill. SE Ls are quite sell spec'd. The LED headlights are fantastic, and Folding mirrors are standard. (They may well be on the SE Technology & SE Drive, but it doesn't appear so from the old brochure brochure)? I'm sorry but Skoda are quite stingy re: Front parking sensors. They're standard on the L&K and VRS Challenge, but for most other models you either have to spec them from new build, or be fortunate enough inherit them on a car which did already have them spec'd from new. Retrofit can be done as is the case with the rear camera. Happy hunting.
  2. Brilliant Pics, guide, and write up. I'm gonna be all over this retrofit for my car too! Thanks for taking the time to upload for our benefit
  3. That car looks really good! On first pass the paintwork is in great condition. I can see from the side profile that you have factory privacy glass from B pillar backwards, AND. Unless I'm mistaken, you also have the uprated (Curved C shape) Rear LED Lamps If you do have them that's a nice option to have. Great buy!
  4. Same car & same thing here. MIne is a DSG and IMHO this combo does not work very well (for me). I've had no problems in the past with 2 previous Manual Octavia 3s and a Manual Superb 2, also, but with the DSG, Stop/Start makes me feel like a learner all over again. The amount of times I've gone to pull away rapidly at a roundabout... Cue the hilarious restart sequence OBD11 or VCDS coming my way soon to shut it up for good!
  5. I'll second this choice of QD. I've not yet tried it, but it will be my next detailing purchase. It seems like a completely sensible, ECONOMINCAL choice with a lot of versatility in how you can dilute it.
  6. Fair play. That car looks beautiful! Combination of an already great car and some superb detailing work,
  7. Re: Tyres. Is your car fiited with the 17" (225/45/17) or 18" (225/40/18) wheels? I found this discussion was quite good... Failing that the Tyres forum on this site has plenty to feast your eyes on.
  8. Congratulations on your purchase. I've also just bought a MK3 facelift SE L Estate this week and I'm really impressed with the drive and the extras on this model, including that dinky little removable torch in the boot, and umbrella, features which only used to appear on the Superb IIRC. I found the led headlights to be absolutely fantastic - really crisp lighting. Even the DRLs are really bright.. Coming from Bi-Xenons in my 2013 car this was a revelation. The Facelift infotainment has Android Auto and Apple Carplay which I've not yet tried, but could you not use your iphone in conjunction with this?
  9. Hi there. I've just been following this thread. Just interested to know what year, model & spec of car you settled for in the end? With the exception of the door rubbers is everything else in great shape/order? What colour is that. Race Blue? or Pacific Blue? Thanks.
  10. To be fair. That does look superb already. Race blue seems to be a very rewarding colour to have! I must try this sometime: (Sonax gloss - first time using this and I was super impressed @ £6 a litre)...That is fantastic value for money! Really looking forward to the pics when full detail is completed. It's gonna look epic!
  11. Hi again. I've just taken a look at my headlights from above. (2013) Octavia III. See pics. Mine are black inside. 5E2 941 015B (Left) 5E2 941 016B (Right). The 17B/18B are obviously the newer units, but I really cannot see any differences, so perhaps they changed over in Model Year 15 or 16? It would be interesting to see which headlight units are fitted to those cars...
  12. Hi there. The units looks absolutely identical, but there may be a difference in UK/European set up.... See below
  13. Wow! Whoever specc'd that car really threw the kitchen sink at it. Certainly enough toys to be getting on with. You've got a good, rare find there. Really nice car! Hope you manage to get the 'Steering Headlights' (AFS) issue solved soon... Will watch out for updates. Please post when you can.. Ta
  14. @nutters_uclan. Looks good. Just out of interest, other than Bi-Xenons and Panoramic roof, what does the spec list look like?
  15. Nice Mods so far. Good Job!

I'm interested in this post, but I'm mystified as to why you chose to lay into member J.R.... He was only trying to help? No?
  17. I'm Interested in this Topic. Especially to see what the fix is... So did you replace and re-code injectors 3 &4?
  18. That is very impressive! As mentioned numerous times before on this site, the 1.6cr 5speed manual has terribly spaced gear ratios... 😭. I would probably get a 2.0 cr elegance or VRS next if the opportunity arises.
  19. I"m not quite sure whether the emissions fix was done on my car although I'm inclined to think not? How would I find this out? Can I enter the VIN into a database to check?
  20. I've monitored the Fuel economy on my 2013 1.6CR manual 5 speed estate since I got it earlier this year. Without delving into figures too much, from my 160 mile commute each day I am consistently seeing between 620 and 650miles per tankful. The MFD. (Yes I know you shouldn't take it as Gospel) regularly reads Mid 70s, with an all time best of 84.5mpg on a long 55mph stint on the M4. Very impressed.
