  1. Hi to all 1.8tsi Yeti owners, Out of pure curiosity I would like to know what fuel economy your 1.8tsi Yeti returning. The reply can be mpg or kpl. Now I know, just as you know that there are many variables, which is not what the question is about. The question is what is your best fuel returns for a "steady drive" of some distance? A drive when you are trying to gain good economy. Let's suggest 100 miles or more. Thanks, Banjobach
  2. Okay Bobdog, we have given you fair warning and plenty of time to surface, but no you obstinate so-and-so, you continue to ellude this forum. So, it is no longer Bobdog's corner, because we Ozzies are taking it over and is from this day forth to be known as Kangaroo Valley Resort!
  3. Welcome ddyer79, I do hope your new Yeti serves you well for many a long year. Do remember that your Yeti will not get to you until it arrives. Be patient, get on with life then it will be at the dealer's before you know it!
  4. Hi gumdrop, the same thing happens with my Yeti after I wash it and at no other time. I suggest wetness causes the brakepads to hold on to the brake discs. How? I have not figured that part out yet. But now, after washing and parking on the flat, I no longer apply the handbrake. The next day I drive away and apply the handbrake as required with no locking of the pads on to the brake discs. My Yeti does not have hill control! Do realise that I am in Western Australia and we have not seen rain for three months, so moisture in the brake area only happens when I wash the Yeti or drive through water. When driving the brakes have the opportunity to dry off after driving through any water (if I could find any) long before the handbrake is applied again. Such is life, Banjobach
  5. I extend a warm welcome from the downunder crew. I sure bet that the covering of the original trim was a fiddly job, but you did it well.
  6. The photographs do suggest it is a nice day to be beside the seaside in a Yeti, especially for your first big day out.
  7. But how excited are you bigjim?
  8. Hi Joiner Andy, Thanks for asking about the weather, to which I can report that weather is hot and sunny, with a forecast top of 38C today. We haven't had any rain for three months and could do with a drop. Not as big a drop as you guys have experienced. After reading all posts, it appears your dealer is typical of those who give car salesmen a bad name. My Yeti was at the showrooms, so I knew exactly what I was getting. At the time there was a special offer - price reduction and a five year warranty. All went well except for the five year warranty, but after six months of persistance it finally arrived. Apparently the salesman did not submit all details correctly to Skoda Australia, so the extra two years of warranty may have had to come out of his pocket. Such is life!
  9. In this situation, I would agree that I could live without the black roof, but the dealer should come to the party with the wheels. Who can you trust these days? All must be in writing and signed, which is the way the dealers work. Wishing you the best of luck!
  10. I think every one here already knew the Skoda Yeti was a cool vehicle and now more poeple have become aware.
  11. What a positive report for a change over to a new Yeti. 6 to 8 weeks can be a long time to wait, until the last week or so, when the time appears to slow down dramatically. Which is different to being on holidays for, say 3 weeks, when the time goes so slowly, until you realise there is only two days left, before heading home and back to the treadmill. How long did you own the first Yeti and how many miles had it done?
  12. Who could ask for a better report from a very satisfied customer? If I could only keep one car, it would be the Yeti. No question. Now I must admit to feeling the same and sincerely hope my opinion never changes! Who could ask for more?
  13. Thanks for the post Macdemon. We need people like you with at least one eye open to inform us down-under lot, otherwise we would never get to read such newspaper articles.
  14. Jerry, these appear to provide better protection than the Yeti originals. Thanks for the post.
  15. Gyp,On behalf of the blokes down-under (don't mention the cricket) we will sure say g'day and make you welcome too. As one old friend once said, If you spit on the floor at home, spit on the floor here, cos we like to make you feel at home.
  16. I do like the chrome / silver trim on the top edge of the rubber door protectors, which stands out against the dark paint work.
  17. Well spotted brxmy. It must be one and the same, especially with the comments made. Graham, we sure hope you are able to make contact with the old cus tarty he has been and missed on this forum.
  18. Hi OldBoy, it sounds as if you and Princess Yeti have hit it off right from the start. Do continue to enjoy your new ride each and every day.
  19. Hi Flintstone, How about putting this place on your bucket list!
  20. Okay, own up. What have you done with Bobdog? I sure hope he did not drink too much of that Proper Job and fell overboard.
  21. An interesting looking medium size station-wagon or a hatchback, I'm not sure which it is. From the side it slightly reminds me of a Honda Jazz.
  22. Zorro, a little homework can sometimes pay off. You even inspired Oldstan to check out the security system on his Yeti to find that it is a proper alarm to his joy.
  23. Wow, what a wonderful driving holiday. You sure enjoyed yourself. Thanks for posting the wonderful photographs so that we might share some of your holiday joy. I am pleased to read that your Yeti performed faultlessly. Were there any variations to the engine's performance when the oil temperature 120 degrees?
  24. Am I the luckiest guy in the world or what? My dearest is very happy with her car, therefore all I have to do is keep it rolling!
