The briskoda ring trip webcam pics thread

But in earlier pics they where parked at angles to the armco

Mannyo is spot on when saying that there is an extra lane, with a barrier actually on the track, should you wish to go straight out.

They were parked at an angle as the track had closed and they will wait there until reopened.

Cheers

Lance

Sadly track closures are far too frequent these days, hence me arranging some of my trips in either late Oct or early Nov, when track time is much better.......or ensuring that I include a bit of mid week Ring action (ooh err).

Spring and/or summer weekends are becoming an increasing waste of time if muchos laps are top priority.

That I can confirm, as a regular visitor since 2002 I have seen a dramatic increase in the ring popularity. Back then it was possible to exit the track and find a space easily in the carpark. These days it seems you need to exit to the overflow carpark in the field over the road, and even that can be full.

A busy afternoon in July 2002.

And an even better one in March 2003 (yes the track is open)

Things have changed a lot.

You ain't kidding!!!

I first went in 1993 and then regularly since 1997 when the entrance/exit was at T13......The good ole days eh?? The ticket barrier was a bloke with a money satchel and a rope across the track:eek:

All seem to go manic after about 2005.

Looks left hand drive?

Hmm. I did think that as well but then I thought Furby vRSs are as rare as rockinghorse droppings over on the continent so what's the chances of one turning up when our lot are over there.

Still makes a difference to the predicably boring constant stream of BMWs and Porches :D

Bingo!

Seems to be closed to bikes, I guess because of an oil spill somewhere.

This is putting me off going... and I'll be there in the height of summer too  It looks like Picadilly Circus :thumbdwn:

Yeah it was very busy but nowhere near as bad as some of you are making out! The track was closed around half a dozen times but reopened pretty quick, longest was around 45 minutes but there was soo much exotica and nice peeps to chat to it didn't really matter!

It was a fantastic weekend, loads happened and lots of pics and vids to post up but that will be in a new thread coming shortly.

Oh and for the record the LH drive Black Fabia vRS was one of ours, that was -GT- (Glen) from Belgium

The others you've spotted were:-

Yellow Fabia - Tigger (Will)

First Black Fabia - Southpaw (Jeff)

Second Black Fabia - Veekar (Brian)

Black Octy with silly stripes - Me :o

Black MkI Octy Est - Dunno, not one of us :(

Silver MkII vRS Estate - Ring service car :)

Glad you all had fun and made it back

That looks like me again lol

I would guess at either the car park is that full or it is as a result of accidents and people already on the track having to crawl round (or turn round ) and waiting to be given their lap back?

I was last through the barrier (due to closure) once on the monday and apart from the yellow flags at the crash site I had a completely clear lap in which I totally chilled out and concentrated on getting the line and it was the best drive of the trip, I was LOL, that good.

Didn't need to have a lap given back at all :D
