TC light - should I be worried?

Featured Replies

The traction control light came on about five minutes after leaving the house this morning and stayed on for about 25 minutes until I accidentally stalled in a queue of traffic. When I started it back up again the TC light had gone out.

According to the manual it only comes on for long periods if it is turned off or there is a fault.

It's going to the main dealer next Wednesday to have a look at a dodgy clutch pedal under warranty and I will ask them to check for TC fault codes but should I try and get them to look at it sooner if there is a potential fault with the TC?

Probably an ABS sensor,

I wouldn't worry to much just don't go ape5hit with it.

Do you use the TC regularly? If not, why worry?

To quote Berretta - "I have a button that turns the traction control off" LOL

TC light comes on when you disconnect the MAF.

Not sure if that will help though.

It's only kicked in a couple of times so far, when I had just bought the car and wheelspan it  If it lights up again and stays on I'll just make sure I take it easy in the wet or loose ground until they look at it next week and check the ABS sensors.

Because the same sensor is used by the ABS system ,however if the sensor goes both tc and abs warning lights come on .

I've had the TC warning on, without the ABS one, myself. That said, a few months back I had to drive home on ice, and tested both systems very fully. They work!
