Just for anyone elses info. I purchased the Kenwood removal tool. Halfrauds do stock 2 Kenwood removal tools:

Kenwood 2001 removal tool and the Kenwood removal tool

I tried both and they both do the job..I have used the broken hacksaw blade before also on my previous Audi A4 and that works too...

Credit card cut into 2 small strips ~ 4mm wide. GREAT TIP and worked a treat after taking off plastic facia surrounding stereo. The facia just needs gentle prising (dont need screwdriver).

The plastic strips did the trick one side at a time whilst pulling on side of head unit.

2 minute job - never happens I know but did this time!! Trying to return useless keys (TC5-93) bought from ebay from Liquidice-2008. He's got the hump and I reckon I wont get cash back but guess its only £3 after all.
