I have to say I thought Stoner rode very well today - really fought with Pedrosa and rode the wheels off the Duke - although I wonder how he'll fare when they take traction control away...

I was trying to be sensible

:D

Lance just finds me trying :o

Not sure what he'll find "The Doctor" after today.

Three wins in a row, first time since 2005.:thumbup:

Am looking forward to the British GP, it's the first track that JT knows & after todays performance I can see him getting on the podium by sheer force of will.:D

The biggest surprise was JT... I was impressed for a newbie.

You ever see a kiddy when a toy is taken out of his pram ? ;)

After all - it's the only thing that keeps him on the bike :D

I think it's called 'playing to the crowd', it's probably got something to do with why half of Italy was stood on the side of a hill holding 46 in the air...

Thanks for clarifying that Kaiser:thumbup:

Ssssh, you nearly said words like admiration, adoration and adulation

Words like that just DO not exist in 'someone's' vocabulary.

The first one does.....the other 2 don't.

Whatever you guys think of him (I really don't like him) he truly deserved to win this race.

I for one tip my hat off to someone that rides like he did today. Give the bloke a pat on the back when he deserves it.

(not a Rossi fan....did I just say that?)

Fab....I second your above comments, but most of all it's good to see another non Rossi fan on here:thumbup::thumbup:

Can't do all this jumping on the band wagon hero worship stuff.

The doctor is in the Theatre

Wouldn't that be nice..................

I didn't mean that:cool:

If the cat in me does come out, there's one special mouse that's gonna get swiped:P:thumbup:

That Rossi lid is exactly the sort of thing that makes me have such an intense dislike of him:mad:......that and his stupid after race antics, which I do my best to avoid.

As Kaiserb_uk said it drives the fans man, he has such a massive following, and his antics must have a bit to do with it.

Regarding the race, he looked very strong, although his starts haven't been great , massive difference from a few races where he really light a candle under him to get the most out of the Yamaha. Casey & Dani seemed content with there spots.

Boy that was some move by JT just on the Start/Finish straight, he was mm's from the grass, lunatic.

Michael Schumacher fans got the same treatment as Rossi fans, but what can you do if you admire extreme talent? MS was top dog in his day (after Senna of course) and anyone who admired his skill was derided as jumping on the bandwagon. Well he was the best and I admired his skill, Rossi in my eyes is the best and likewise I admire him the most at present (I love his self deprecation too)

Hi Amanda, my bandwagon comment was meant as a joke, in the spirit of the banter we see on these threads.......I accept we all admire different celebrities/teams for many different reasons. I certainly wouldn't jump on the bandwagon of the alledged Man U type bandwagon.

Strangely enough, I was indirectly accussed in an earlier MotoGP thread of jumping on the band wagon, for not supporting Rossi:confused:

Does that make sense?

Cheers

TBH I've never noticed him at being particularly great at starts - I don't think that's the Yamaha's forte.

But, boy, he knows how to carve em up soon after - scythes through the field within 2 laps at most usually.

Good race - but still sort of long for old Rossi-Gibernau ding dong races. As Amanda said - bit too processional.

No it wasn't you.......for once:)

And two......err yeah, no.....not sure:confused:

Lance (I've told the fat bird to put the mic down and take a seat, as she may not be required for some time now) (fat old tart:eek:)

You know it makes sense - though Stoner did put up good showing and was impressed by the way he came back at Pedalosa

Not MacDonalds - must be going upmarket.

Next'll be BMW cafe

Just noticed that we have another race this coming weekend:), from Catalunya and then it's the British round two weeks later:D.

Will be away at the Nurburgring for the British round, so no input from me post race, regardless who wins.

:iagree: - although I can't claim to have supported Vale before he was successful; What I can say is that I was cheering for him before I found that he was very successful, rather than just a bit successful and having a sense of humour (well he makes me laugh). For faqs sake, I was actively supporting someone riding a Honda! ;)

Oh and yesterday, if they'd been able to stop him escaping, I'd have said that Casey or Dani had earned the win.

I just meant it as a generalisation really, not directed at your comments (which you are of course entitled too:thumbup:)

True, but in 2006 I can't recall them being as bad as Sunday (maybe the others have just got better at them, eg Dani's rockets starts). Although Rossi was already starting to make back up the numbers by turn 1.

I can't remember Vale ever leading out of turn 1, even back in the Honda days. As Stavros is fond of pointing out, he actually likes to at least make the race look like a race, rather than a demonstration run.

I can't remember Vale ever leading out of turn 1, even back in the Honda days.

I didn't meant to give the idea he was leading at turn 1, more a case of not falling as far back into the pack as he has done lately ;)

And equally, all I meant was that he's not a renowned demon starter, and never has been.
