Tires for Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Right, my front's are getting towards there wear marks, so looking at putting something nice and new round the alloys.

Anyone got any sugestions?

Also any recomendations as to swapping the front's to rear, and then waiting till they wear down and get 4 new ones or is it not really worth it?

Cheers

Ashleigh

There's more than one thread around for the tyre discussion - try searching on Fabia Tyres.

The tyres with more tread should be on the rear for safety reasons - if that helps clarify the way ahead.

Not sure if you should mix and match makes/tread patterns - wasn't Jason running with mismatched tyres on his Wales run? ;)

I just got new tyres of the Fabia, on the front only as the rears have hardly any ware at all, and took Conti Eco Contacts. Both the Eco and the Sport Contacts are quite good

Toyo Proxes - they transform the car (though others probably would too - the standard Michelins are dire :thumbdwn: )

Superb grip wet or dry, cheap to buy, the only downside is the wear rate

As above. Yokohama 539s.

Atho i swapped my original tyres round just before the trackday.. and i dont think it affected the handling at all. tho i dunno about in the wet. the reason i swapped them round was to help save money for alloys... i got my current 17" with decent toyos, the correct size for

probably go for some Yoko's as that's what I run on the '2's so may as well keep them all the same, should I put the yoko's on the back and the standards up front so they wear? just the rears have NO wear at all (practically) on them, shows that the front's are having fun with all the torque ;) The only reason I checked them (besides cleaning the alloys thisafternoon) was that I've noticed the TC light coming on more regularly. Oh well I think I'll get the backs put up front, and some nice yoko's on the back, then when I wear the fronts down again do the same and match them all up.

Cheers guys

Yes Toyos up front and Marshalls on the back if I remember correctly - and it was the back end that let go.

Probably going to go for Toyos when the OE black turds are dead.
