Hamilton Crashes

Featured Replies

Nice to see DC scoop a couple of well earned points.

A couple or six. DC looked well pleased at the end of the race. They all did, except perhaps Heidfeld, who looked like someone had stolen his dummy ;)

Regarding Hamilton, a 10 place grid penalty punishes the team too, which is as it should be. Surely they have monitors that indicate when the pitlane exit is open and closed, so should have advised him as he left his pit box.

But then, even if he had stopped in time, he would have had Rosberg running into him at speed, so he was damned either way.

Good race though, shame about the track condition.

This is a good point, and not one which will be reported much. The fact is that F1 cars don't have brake lights (I've always wondered why not?) so both Hamilton and Rosberg's mistakes are understandable.

Yes they are both idiots:rolleyes:

I must admit I like looking back to the pre race interview where he questioned how his dad could crash at 30mph!

I really was not impressed with his comments that the team should have let him no the light was red. Surely there are three things when leaving the pit lane; your speed, other cars, and the lights! I am not on the huge amounts of money he is, but so far (touch wood) because i am aware of the three earlier points, I have not crashed at a set of traffic lights!

I am definitely a fan of his racing, but really beginning to dislike him as a person. He has a touch of the Andy Murrays about him. Typical whinging Brit Sportsman. What happened to real men with integrity and a broad pair of shoulders (metaphorically speaking)

Totally agree, there's no doubt he has a natural talent, but as a person, he really annoys me. :(

I've never been a fan. I've always thought him to be an arrogant little ******. As for him being a great driver? Nah, it is too early to call him that, especially given his inexperience.

Much as I seem to be coming to dislike him, I think I see greatness in his driving (most of the time) as I think you either have it or you don’t. He seems to have ‘it’. He reminds me of Schuey, except Schuey would have admitted he c0cked up on Sunday.

I see both Hamilton & Rosberg have 10 place grid penalties for France - deservidly so, the pair of idiots!

Seeing as Massa & Fisichella got black flagged at last years race for leaving the pit lane whilst the light was red, you would have thought all the teams would have briefed their drivers - obviously Hamilton was having his afternoon nap at that time!

I didn't think Hamiltons explanation did him any favours ethier - "I apologised to Kimi and IF I’ve ruined his race, but that sort of thing happens.”

"IF I’ve ruined his race" - I don't think he could have done any more to ruin someones race. At least Kimi admitted that he was not in a great position to talk about running in to the back of people following Monoco.

Possibly the most interesting thing to come out of this is the new leader of the F1 title race. The BMW is quite quick and if BMW through buckets of cash and development at the car, can Kubica continue to hold on to the lead? He is the most consistent front runner this year so far and I don’t think Team orders will go against him now as he clearly will be given top status.

It's a real shame for Kubica, his maiden win, at the same track that he had the big accident last year, and now leading the championship, and it still gets overshadowed by the silly pit lane incident.

:(

He was distracted by a chubby beaver..:rofl::rofl:

This theme is more and more common, I've thought for a while he seems a little in awe

of his own talent, arrogant git. Press draw a lot of parrelells with Tiger Woods, but for

me Tiger Woods displays more respect for others and leaves it for others to say how

brilliant he is, perhaps a lesson Hamilton will learn in time. Respect too for Raikenen's

reaction to what happened immediatey after the 'shunt', p$£sed off, he clearly was,

but after a little finger wagging a pat on Lewis' back. Good sportsman.

Ironically, Hamilton had the choice of who to run into as both Kimi & Kubica were lined up side by side. Being British of course, Hamilton kept to the left hand side and took out his closest title threat.

I think Ferrari will be back on form at Magny-Cours in two weeks - they had a 1, 2 last year and have won 5 out of the last 7 races there + Hamilton will start no higher than 10th.

Why were there no penalties for racing in the pit lane for the other drivers.

It would be really funny if Kubica won the Championship and rain on Hamilton’s parade.

Well the sooner Kimi slings his hook the better.

Lauda's sum up of Kimi (made last year) is spot on IMO.

LET LEWIS LOOSE - Mirror.co.uk

Hamilton is not whingeing that he has been unfairly treated:rolleyes:. What a spoiled child. His team also confirmed that they did warn him of the red lights.
