Emergency!! Help? Advise? please

Featured Replies

Hi,

i have a fabia vrs 04 which i love to bits, after a long hot day working i put 9 litres of bloody petrol in my furby!! Arrhh bolox!! (it had 50 miles of dieasal left before my stupid mistake), and i topped it to the brim with diesal, bounced on the boot in a atempt to mix it all up, drove it for 20 miles and everything seemed fine. the following day i add 500ml of cetane boost/injector cleaning fluid, i drove for 115 miles still with no problem, then i topped up the tank with another 10 quids worth. the only thing different is that when i usually turn the key you can hear it squirt in diesal to prime it, but now the sound is not the same, and sometimes it doesnt start quite so smoothly as it did before.

Is 120+ miles to late to try and flush it all out? plus i havent got the 300 quid to do so, surly if it was damaged it would of happend already?

please for the love of god help?

will j

You should be just fine.

9L of petrol in a full tank of diesel is not enough to cause major probs...

Welcome. Won't do any harm :)

the petrol should evaporate within time as well as become so dilute in the tank that you wont notice it. try and keep the tank topped up as much as possible for a month or so.

Just don't add any more of that cetane boost/injector cleaning fluid for a few fill ups as the petrol will be doing that job for you
