Got an advert card yesterday. Two new Skoda dealers have opened up, Birchwood Skoda in Eastbourne, and West Sussex Motors in Goring, near Worthing.

I guess this is the long awaited replacement for the Citygates / Saltdean / Ballamys group.

Went over to the new Goring dealer for an eson this morning. I mentioned I heard that the 2.0FSI was being replaced with a new 1.8 turbo (160bhp) and they didn't know anything about it. Reckons the 2.0 is carrying on .

He did say the Octy 2 facelift was from Week 45 though. I asked if that meant a better deal on remaining un-facelifted models and he said no - then he said maybe - then he said 'who knows?'.

Uh, huh !!

p.s. a couple of very nice used late vRs's on forecourt, as well as other Octy 2s in good looking nick.

The salesman (who turned out to be the guy from Saltdean who sold me my Mk 1) reckoned they would have them from about end of November.

Facelift build commences wk 33 (WC 11th Aug).

The 2.0 Turbo does continue however it is a different engine.

2.0 FSi is replaced by the 1.8TSi (thought that had allready happened)

2.0 TFSI is replaced by the 2.0TSi (I believe looking at the engine a larger version of the 1.8TSi.

On a different note had my first 1.4 TSi in today, like the twin charger engine but witout the charger, didnt go to bad at all considering its in a tubby Golf.

Birchwood Motors' arrival was announced in this thread but not that of West Sussex Skoda. Both now have entries in the Reviews section here.

They usually creep out, so does anyone have any pics of the new facelift? Mine is arriving week 25 and i'm quite happy and would not have waited for the new look, but i'm still curious?
