Ahoj,

Parked the motor last night, a few hours later - when I returned to I noticed that the rear plate lights were on (yes I switched them off when I parked).

Anyway, once sat inside I had a little play and found that when the dial is switched off - if I pushed the dial further in to its mounting, all the cabin lights lit up (instruments, heater, e/w, etc.)

So before I contact the dealer, has anybody else noticed this problem/phenomenon...

I haven't experienced this myself.

If pressing on the switch itself causes the phenomenon, then it seems highly likely its a loose connection in this area or a faulty headlamp switch.

If you can get behind the switch itself, there are two plug/socket connectors that go into the back of the switch. See if these are secure.

You will probably have to remove the lower right hand side of the dash to do this, but its very easy.

Apart from this i dont know what to suggest.

Just got back from the dealer, YES the problem is a short/fault within the headlamp switch itself.

They haven't seen this problem before either.

Anyway - problem sorted....

just a tip for everybody to remove headlight switch just push in switch rotator turn to side lights and pull switch out (some are tight and need a small screwdriver to lever out) just the same for octavia's
