Seat belt anchors ? is this correct

Featured Replies

Ive had the car (VRS TDI Estate) for a few uneventful months now. However yesterday I noticed that the drivers seat belt anchor has a plastic cover whilst the passenger side does not and the wire loop and ferule is fully visible down the side of the seat. Is this normal or has the covering been missed off on the passenger side?

See pics

It's normal, I noticed this the other day on an Octavia 2.

Same on mine too...

Ok thanks peeps. I wont bother the dealers about it then.

The driver's side has the plastic cover because it also contains the wire for the seat belt sensor.

yup its normal, i took mine back to the dealers till they realised they couldnt order any parts for it as it was supposed to be like that

ahh that saves a trip to the dealers then

doesnt the passenger seat have a seat belt sensor then?

cheers

IIRC its just the drivers side has a sensor.

Passenger should also have a sensor, the dash light is activated by the occupant sensor in the seat base.

Mine doesn't. The chimes and dash light all work connected to the driver's seat belt only.

So if someone sits in the pasenger seat the warning light doesnt come on? Maybe this is one of the reasons it doesnt have NCAP5 rating as I know its a requirement. And considering you already have an occupant sensor it doesnt make much sense.

i know the roomsters come with the sensor in both seats...

is it to prevent rattling?

mine is the same, i did complain to the dealer as i thought it was rather shoddy.

Mine doesn't. The chimes and dash light all work connected to the driver's seat belt only.

IIRC mine is also same as this. Mates basic Seat leon has this feature.
