Was it white??? lol

You've got a 'grown up' car though. it's the extra bootspace which sets you apart (apparently - Lance?)

Never had any Police attention in any of my cars, even my quite heavily modified Vento (albeit quite subtle).

None in the Fabia vRS, or the Lupo Sport :D

Started talking and the police officer said my Fabia was a bit of a boy racer car :(

I've taken offence to this! Originally bought the car to lose the young corsa driver image

This has really bugged me

So is my car a boy racer car and the Fabia in general? Tbh i dont think so and id class my Fabia as pretty classy and OEM + but obviously not in the eyes of the law

So you wanted to avoid the boy racer image, but then fitted bigger wheels, brakes, lowered it, remapped it, added a splitter, ICE etc.

Add that to your age and what do you expect people to think??

Just because you do subtle tasteful mods you cant get away from, young lad in a modified car = boy racer.

I never had unwanted attention from the police in either my Paxo VTR or my Fabia vRS... mind you I didn't have the paxo for very long. :D

got pulled once in my nova sr, but i was 17. lol

Dear Jasc1988: How did You take off the side strips? I fought almost an hour to get off the fabia -letters and vrs badge from the rear... And I thought that if the fight for side strips is hard as the rear letters, I will leave them on... So some advise is needed... Thanks mate!

I have been pulled over by the police for being a chav :o

I think on the basis of me driving a Skoda, having wellies on and a dog in the car meant they let me go with the instruction to grow up :D

We get funny looks of the police when driving our vRS think because it is bright yellow does not help, yes I do confess to wearing a cap not as much as nowadays driving ther car and when SWMBO behind the wheel she looks quite young. Most of the time I drive the car I'm wearing my suit.

Only been stopped by the police twice and not for being a boy racer.

its a lot of hard work :(

Heat up strips with heat gun and gently prise them off - should come off quite easily

BUT they leave the horrible residue behind :thumbdwn:

I then removed this with the aid of a rag and some Autoglym Intensive tar remover but it took a while

Afterwards remember to wash and protect

There was another way to do it with a butterfly wheel or something like that. Have a search:thumbup:

Aye i was just about to say what did they say about your plates?

^ as above?

Wish someone would accuse me of being a boy racer.

Old boy Racer.....:D

I've never been pulled over in my cars.

Even when i had the Impreza.

Wonder if it's anything to do with the child seat and kiddie sunblinds on the windows...

I certainly aint a boy racer. :)

Pressed plates have now gone, that was my old reg

Got private plates as per my sig ;)

As 'plod' myself, I certainly appreciate the beauty of the Fabia vRS and if I pulled someone over in one, it would be to congratulate them on their fine taste... ;-)

Fancy a transfer to Edinburgh to educate our Officers :D

Hahaha... it certainly would be an education for them when they are left chowing down on the black soot from your twin tailpipes. The cars we have here in Merseyside are standard 1.7 astra diesels - they're pretty disgraceful! The cop was probably just jealous!

We have a few good officers who appreciate cars as much as the rest of us forums users kicking around edinburgh ;)

is that all they are? an i hardly see any round wirral way - i always keep being in fron tof the vectra an sigma on the motorway tho.

we still got the fords round here.

Funny not been pulled over in the fabia (touch wood) or did I when I had a saxo vts (I was younger and foolish). But I often attract the attention of the police when I'm driving my old polo coupe, just the other day one did a U-turn and follwed, kept to the limit and he got bored after a while. Got pulled last month in the "father-in-laws" car (astra estate) due to having a headlight out.

Cool after all these years I finally have a boyracers car! Suits me I'm 30 in 7 days!
