Bought me a new motor....

Featured Replies

Yep, i've finally done it! after weeks of deliberation, chopping and changing my mind between a mk1 octy vRS or a Fabia vRS....... I have finally made the decision!

I've just put down a deposit on a 2004 (04) Fabia vRS in black magic

63k, FSH, with a few nice optional extras: Xenons, Cruise control and a Sunroof.

£5700 (knocked down from £5999) from a main dealer.

Now i've just got what seems like a very long wait whilst they inspect & prep the car, unfortunately i don't pick the car up until saturady the 28th as i'm bit busy and can't get back to the dealers until then......... but i just can't wait! :D

So how did i do? good price?

Not got any pics of it but here's the autotrader ad:

Oh.... and if anybody needs a Brodit pro clip (vent mount) for a mk1 Octavia, then i have one brand new still in the pack for a tenner! i bought it as i was all set to buy an octavia vrs but ended up plumping for the little furby instead

perhaps blank out the reg and your post code fella,

but looks good,

crascking price with some good extras,

i paid 7k for 04 reg in jan with 38k on the clock, thats with no extras

 edited..... cheers, didn't think about that.......

its still showing on the pic!!

Good price and some nice extras.

I paid £8k for a 2005 '55' standard spec car with 54k miles in february.

That was from a main dealer with a years warranty.

it's not showing here.

I deleted the unedited pics from photobucket so must be just your browsers cookies needing to be refreshed/deleted.....

Excellent !

Sunroof too !

Very jealous. :D

Stupid question time !

Have you checked with the garage that those extras are genuine ?? And not a slip of the sellers finger when putting the ad up ??

If they are genuine extras ,, thats a good price mate,,, would love a sunroof !!

What extras are you talking about ?

Sunroof... Not a standard fit.

I would still say it's not a typing error.

It's a rare extra, only seen one vRS so far with one.

The extras are definately all there, the ad doesn't even mention cruise control - but it definately has the cruise control stalk as it was one of the 1st things i noticed when i got in when i took it for a test drive - obviously i took it for a run before i parted with a deposit....... Likewise i hadn't realised it had Xenons from the ad until i got there, as the ad says it has headlamp washers (i didn't know that you only get them with Xenons) And yes there is definately a hole in the roof too..... I've bought myself a skip! as the old joke used to be........

Looking on parkers guide that's 1 grand worth of nice little extras - wish it had ESP on it too but no such luck i'm afraid. Can't wait to get it....... will post some pics when i've got it.

I'm pretty sure Steve wouldn't have bought the car without looking at it , and might have noticed the asbsence of a big hole in the roof.

That's a good price for a nice car with decent extras

Well done fella...

as the ad says it has headlamp washers (i didn't know that you only get them with Xenons)

You don't only get them with Xenons - they were an option with Halogens.

You have impeccable taste in cars.

Best of luck with it.

I don't think they were on a UK spec Fabia.

And at last here it is......... just had a wash, needs a good polish and a ton of wax, but as it's raining again now (typical....) that will have to wait.

I don't think it'll win any concourse competitions, but i think it ain't alf bad for £5700.

A few little scratches here and there but on the whole a nice car and a lovely drive...... well i'm chuffed anyway! :D

Looks great! hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine!

Looks lovely mate :o)

Grey Gables..... Is that in Curbridge?? They used to be my local dealer, til my job moved to Norfolk..... I miss Oxfordshire (sigh).....

You know your about to hit the slippery modding slope..........lol

I said i wouldn't much mod my vRS.....but new wheels, LCR splitter, lowered, pd160 intake n piperx filter, remap, uprated disk etc etc etc lol lol lol

You'll have loadsa fun in it!! ENJOY n welcome to the SMOGGY SIDE lol

Very nice - same options list as mine

Looks a good price, especially from a dealer.

Yeah thats the one..... I'm near bristol myself but it was worth the effort going out there to see it. Nice place, think i could happily move there.

Yes, lovely scenery, except for the noisy aircraft overhead!!!! (thats a local thing to Curbridge though!)

But being an aircraft engineer it kinda comes with the territory.......
