Felicia diesel missing.

Featured Replies

Hi guys and girls!

I have a problem with my Felicia diesel.

It is really nice to drive however if you are tootling along at somewhere around 30-60mph then gently put your foot down say to retain the same speed up a slight slope then it seems to be missing for afew seconds then it pulls but with a little cloud of smoke out the the exhaust.

Also (don't know if it's connected) the engine sounds like its grinding at times kind of like a "Grr" kind of like a failling drive shaft but from the engine.

It's had following parts change for good or new and the haven't made any difference:

Battery

Gearbox

Alternator

Radiator

Both drive shafts

Drive shaft balancer weight

All cv joints

Glow plugs

Shock absorbers

Hub nuts

Fuel pump to injector pipes

Injector cleaner

Fuel filter

Air filter

Any Ideas welcome.

Savage...I would be looking firstly at the fuel filter and its associated pipework.

It`s also worth checking the insides of the flexible hoses as if they break up the bits can clog the rather small orifaces etc etc...

I would try a little methodology before replacing anything else....

As Mrs Beeton might say....."First.....catch your wabbit " :D

The fuel filter and air filter were also changed twice.

I will check the hoses just in case.

Thank you.

i would replace the load sensor on the injection pump, it is basically a variable resistor which is operated by the throttle lever and sometimes the resistor 'track' gets dirty and gives false readings

Where abouts would that be?

Any chance of a picture or diagram please?

Forgot to say all pipes from pump to injectors were replaced aswell but not the tank to pump so will check that too.

Have a look for a proper Bosch or TurnerTune diesel service place near you. I think it's either pipes or worn mechanical injectors, but they will know which.

We have a contender!

Gave the car a blast with the injector cleaner and it seems a little better so I am going to overdose the fuel with reddex blue and drag race it to work.

Not a problem, mate, its wot i do all day, but on a bigger scale

Em, that is the sort of way I was thinking too. I just wasn't sure if it was 1 sticky injector or 4 worn ones.
