what do you think to c3's?

Featured Replies

just looking online and spotted the Citroen c3 1.6 vtr looks pretty nice and sounds quick as! just wondering what you all think about me getting rid of my fabia 1.4 16v for a citoren c3 vtr. they seem well cheap for a 2nd hand one with only 14000 miles on the clock which is CRAZYNESS

any reason for them being so cheap are they just ****?

good advice pls!

poop

get a c2 GT/ VTS if you want a small french warm hatch

Not driven a C3 , but the C2 is a hateful piece of crap.

I really like the C1 , and the C4 is nice and a good second hand buy.

The new C5 looks cracking.

So , basically , I have an opinion on every Citroen apart from the one you care about

IIRC the VTS has a stupid flappy-paddle semi-auto gearbox thingy rubbishy thingbob.

I believe the GT is far better. :)

thats the problem lol about 7k at most

whats wrong with a fabia vrs?! :)

few octavias round that price too.

ibiza sport 130's are pretty cheap i think.

Furby vRS

7k might see you into an early Swift Sport too, but that will be private sellers who are after a fast sale.

Citroen C3's are notorious fo crappy build quality.

Buy a VRS, better, faster and a whole load more fun than any Citroen.Trust me, I had my own Citroen business!

:sofahide:

I traded a C2 GT in for the vRS and it was a sad day. We had two years of trouble free motoring, good dealer service and surprisingly nippy for the spec of the car. In fact, all I did in the two years and 22,000 miles was top up the screen wash. It took us all the way to the French Alps complete with roof box and even managed to cruise at 150/160kph on the autoroutes. (You do the maths:D)

And, dare I say, it was better screwed together than the vRS with no rattles or squeaks. Not all French cars are crap.:P

my friend has a c3 and it feels very cheap inside, everything is made out of thin plastic, the pasanger footwell just has carpet stuffed up inside it, (my friends is a 54 model and well looked after) the plastic casing under the steeting column is ugly and wobbly also everything rattles and squeeks, the washers dont always work as the rubber pipe becomes clamped in the hinge side of the bonnet. also a rather low speed knock on the left mirror caused the mirror to fall out lol, also i find that there is no comfortable amount of revs in a certain gear for low steady speeds

The C3 should be due a replacement soon as it's about as old as the 207 if not older.

It's better than a saxo, but other cars available now are better. I'd not go for a fabia vRS myself as they are an old model and do have a fair number of issues.

That plus rising fuel costs mean a small nippy petrol car might be a better buy. For 7k you should be able to get a nearly new fiat panda 100 and they are getting great reviews by many people including some members (possibly ex members) of this forum.

Citroen prices have been driven down by years and years of discounting and cashback offers.

Nah nah nah, the VTR has that stupid flappy paddle. The VTS is manual.

My friend has one and its all noise and no go tbh. He hates it lol

Wrong! the VTS has a manual box as does the GT.

The VTR has the sesodrive.

GT is as VTR but has manual box and is lighter

VTS is quicker than GT ;)

I stand corrected. :)

Lol, its the french, never simple.

You would have thought that the top spec would have had the fancy gearbox

Unless it can't handle the extra power. :P

I used to look after the phones in a joint Honda / Citroen dealership, the workshop manager in Honda always threatened his mechanics that if they messed up he'd send them to work in the Citroen garage!

I believe it was regarded as a fate worse than death :)

C3's are cheap for a reason :D

Had a C3 diesel a few years back as a hire car in Tuscany. Did possibly 1000m in the week. Car was pretty good to drive but trim was so flimsy. Think lifespan of this car would be pretty short
