Another Suspension Question.

Featured Replies

Getting a suspension kit off a friend of a friend that he hasnt fitted to his mk1 fabia (non vRS), and says 35mm. Now would they fit my vRS and would they still do 35mm. Dont the normal Fabia's sit higher than the vRS?

Thanks,

Mark

Probably not, the spring rate needs to be high on the front due to the heavy diesel engine, whereas the petrol fabias will have a lower spring rate as the front end is lighter.

as said above unless you get a kit speciified for the vrs then it is no good i belive the fromt axil weight is 960 witch is 60 more than the pd100 yor best bet is a set of eibach springs for a 25mm drop(around £130) , or a set of kw coilovers (from around £650)

Anyone know? pls?

anyone? lol

Wouldnt bother, just get some springs for the now, i believe Koni do ones that lower the vRS 30mm. If you want more i'd suggest coilovers

I'm with JASC on this one, the Eibach are great for a start and all of the spring sets for VRS are about the same drop size 25-35mm (not much really) but the ride quality is much better. If you want large drop (on the floor) then you need to save and go for coilovers. No way round it unfortunately...

i want it about 30mm so not to much just a nice height. Now my shocks are really due for a change hence this is why im wanting a kit, not just springs.

Thanks.

What year and mileage?

Surely the shockers will be okay?

If they need replaced and you want 25-30 mm (nothing in it  ) I'd suggest Koni FSD's teamed up with Eibach springs (the ultimate spring / damper set up for road use on the Fabia)

OR if you want lower get coilovers

touching 85,000 miles, and they are definately on there way out :(

Dont buy the ones from ebay...

You would do less damage to your car buy filling the boot with brease blocks to get it lower!!

Get a demontweeks cataloge, theyve got good write-ups on most of there stuff.

Im not saying buy from them tho.

Im thinking of being different (again), and going with Bilstein, only dampers and spring, not coilys.

Or Koni, they have a big collection of different dampers like Bilstein. There cheepest kit is £278.77 in demontweeks, and thats a 40mm drom aparently!

If you are after looks then I would save for coilovers and a sump guard as eibachs are barely noticable IMO hence why if I do change the suspension it will be weitec coilies and a custom sump guard
