Free picture editing

Featured Replies

I'm trying to find some free software that I can use to edit pictures before putting on a website. I'd like to be able to merge two picture to create a very wide pic as the website doesn't allow me to have two pics side by side.

Any suggestions?

GIMP will let you do practically anything Photoshop users can do. For free. I'll asume you're on Windows: GIMP - Windows installers - if not there's other packages for different OS's.

Might be a bit much for what you're after, but means you can advance to image manipulation if you get into it?

Though I'd suggest if the website won't let you have two images there's probably a reason, and therefore a wide image may not get round it? But that'll depend on the specific situation I guess?

I've used GIMP before and found it was a little over the top for what I needed. I also had to explain to the MD why I had installed GIMP on my work laptop:O:rofl:

Paint.NET is another free (and kinda light weight) image editing app

:)

picasa.google.com

It'll be very basic but it might suit your needs

I use paint.net and it's a handy little app for image manipulation etc, free to, free is good.

Another vote for GIMP, it really is a free photoshop.

I have Panorama Maker and it always seems to work really well. I's not free but I'd be more than happy to have a go at stitching them together for you...

Used to use fotofiltre, very good.

If it's a work laptop, get work to pay for some software :)

I use Photoshop Elements 6 at work and get on with it well :)

:rofl::rofl: wishful thinking

I've re designed some of the website now and got the pictures sorted. Think I will have upset the idiot that did it in the first place though

Irfanview is a good, simple program.

Just installed GIMP will check it out later.

I've used GIMP to do some very basic stuff and am of the impression that it will take some fiddling to get used to it but will be very good if I ever get the chance...

Graphics Software by Xara do free for Linux & reasonably cheap for Windows stuff that's less feature rich than GIMP but a bit easier to use...
