wheel bearing/hot tyre

Featured Replies

That's because the extra loading takes out the free play that makes the squealing noises.

Yea, thats what I was figuring.

Ok, Can anyone describe roughly the process of replacing this bearing/hub? I can guess as much as;

1) remove wheel

2) remove brake caliper

3) remove disk

then I forget completely what the bottom end of the suspension looks like :D

I replaced the suspension spring and bearing on the last fabia (the one that the girlfriend rolled :thumbdwn: so i should remember what it looks like)

cheers, Dave.

undo and remove the driveshaft nut (30mm;)), then you need to release the pinch bolt that holds the ball joint onto the hub carrier, then lever it down to get it out, then relase the pinch bolt that holds the damper into the hub carrier, then the hub should pull off the driveshaft end, but be carefull not to pull the shaft oout of the gearbox or you'll dump all your gearbox oil on the floor
