Leaking sunroof

Featured Replies

Has any one any experience of fitting a new seal to the sunroof on a felicia1.3 ? According to the Haines manual the head lining has to come out which would be a nightmare, On close inspection I removed the trim from around the sunroof and found the headlining is clear of the fixing strip . There are screws which look like starpoints so with these removed the sunroof should come out. I will make enquiries about getting a new seal and if I can get one I will proceed further. If anyone has done this I would like to know how they got on . Stanw

Try cleaning the seal gently first (remove the glass if possible), and smear the seal with silicone grease. This got mine watertight again and is a better option IMO than a new seal if it works.

Read this thread, this is how I solved the leak easily

I also for good measure applied some clear silicone seal (the stuff you get in a tube) around the outside of the roof trim to seal the roof to trim gap just incase it leaked there.

Thanks anewman and MickA. I will try your methods first before I try a new seal. Thanks again Stanw
