I have a fab vRS on order but have noticed the grey seats :( although these look fantastic there is no way they are going to stay clean.

I have heard talk of scotchguard etc which will help protect the seats in the way which a high gloss wax can protect paint work. I know nothing about this stuff and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me whats best and where to get it. Preferably halfords as its the closest car shop to me.

any help will be greatly appreciated

You could scotchguard your seats, or alternatively we've had some seat covers custom made by a company called Hatchbag. They are made form a grey nylon material and fit the Fabia vrs really well. I use them for everday bashing about and take them off for holidays and high days. They cost

Or you could fit some fluffy covers like in my Mums Astra - would go well with some fluffy dice

I really like the VRS seats and don't really want to cover them up

Well, slip the seat covers over your bum.

Scotchgard won't help with the pulled threads that seem to afflict the VRS seats.

what are the seat covers like? do they fit nice and snug and look ok etc. Also where do you get them from

You'll be lucky to find actual Scotchguard as they recently found out that the chemicals used in manufacture are carcinogenic. Other products are available but I really wouldn't bother. I'm talking specifically about the seats here but as it's a coating that covers the fabric it is prone to wear off where you sit. Sort of defeats the object I reckon.

I looked at hatchbag and they look like the ones my sister in law has got - not exactly very pretty for the VRS or am I looking in the wrong place? I've found scotchguard on the net and ebay, but don't fancy using it after reading the above. This leave seat covers - French hypermarkets sell sets at reasonable prices, but finding ones for the fabia will be like hens teeth - does anyone know what a close fir in a popular car would be? Scotchgard is a Flouro-Chemical coating. This means it is water repelant and so if you spill stuff on the seats it won't soak in. It does work, and although it wears off, it takes a long while and can be re-applied. There are plenty of other companies who make this besides Scotchgard.

But there is another method which is far more practical and permanet. Basically you re-dye the carpets with a clear dye. I know it sounds crazy but stains appear because the dirt or spill acts like the dye on the fibres, thats why some stains you just can't remove. But fabric can only take so much dye so by adding a clear dye it brims it up. after that, nothing sticks. This method isn't water repelant and won't keep your seats clean. but it will make sure that nothing sticks and it will easily wash out.

The Hatchbag covers are custom made by measuring the car at their local Skoda dealer. The fit is as tight as you can get and the quality is first class. I know there are several people on here that already have them and are happy with the result.

would anybody be so kind as to post a picture of their car with these covers fitted?

a pic of the cover on a vrs , i have the drivers cover and it fits very well, i dont bother with the rest of the seats as i am mostly in the car myself

They are just like my sis in laws - em, I appreciate they do a very good job, but they're not exactly pretty - hopefully someone can come up with something better. I found someone who'll profeshinally make and fit covers for 300 euros - the catch - you have to order them a few weeks in advance, they need the car for the best part of a day to fit them, they don't come off easily, the person who does them is in Turin (Italy)

invest in the hatchbag covers. Don't bother with the Halfords nylon wipeable seat covers they just don't fit, slide off the seat and drive you mad in minutes. Only
