No 120hp version of the 1.8TfSI exists...

The A4 uses the 160hp version, while the A5 gets the 170hp version. These are rumored to be increased in the near future. Yet the SuperbII is expected to receive only the 160hp version. Why not just go with the Revo upgrade to this engine? As many a good thing have been said of it!

FWIW, Skoda are marketing a 200hp 1.8 TSI in Greece: Skoda Octavia 5 GT 200hp

you can just about make out the engine info.

Revo is a good idea and should certainly overcome the low power problem, according to Revo it gets boosted to 220BHP from 160BHP and torque goes up to 275ftlb from 184ftlb.

That's pretty cool! Nice find.

For those that have driven the car, is the 1.8 TSI powerful enough for this size of car?

I had my reservations but I liked it a lot, it suprised me how well it went.

I'd rather the 1.8TSi over the 1.9TDi anyway.

If you plan on getting Revo, don't go for the DSG, as they won't touch it. Apparently, the 7-speed that Skoda are getting is very torque sensitive. Hence, the reason why it's not showing up in the diesels.

Audi do have a 7-speed S-Tronic (I think that's what they call it), which will handle more torque, but they are keeping it to themselves for the moment.

Bagpuss.

Not sure if the S-Tronic has been designed with a transverse layout in mind...
