are there any improvements with one of these?

Whats the difference between a forge and standard

Usually a larger pipe with a smoother entry for the air.

Im looking into getting one, they look a bit fiddly to fit though

Would there be any bhp gain on a standard rs,will it help when i eventually get a remap?

I think little gain if any. I never noticed any really except slightly louder spool up. The oe pipe gets narrow near where it enters the turbo, the silicone one has a nice wide opening.

Sounds ok i still might get one

if you get one cheap then go for it but i wouldn't buy on at full price seeing as your looking at something like £150

Get an autobahn88 off ebay like mine.

I have one of them for my K04. Pretty good quality for the price (I got my second hand but unused)

thanx,will have a read thru:)

I think it's worth doing.

They're a bit of a pig to fit at the turbo end.

I got the Autobhan one mate and was well impressed .. great sound ..quicker spool up .. it feels like it breathes easier

I have a forge TIP as well as forge silicone intake hoses. The whole lot has given me a decent torque increase, almost 20ftlb. The TIP was a bit tricky to fit, but only because I find it difficult to get my stupid big hands into small spaces!

God i started this thread ages ago lol

Iv got a Forge tip,but its still in a box under the bed!

I wil get it fitted one day

I have a Forge TIP on the 20V Turbo and it is a bit of a pain to fit, there is only a very narrow lip for the pipe to fit on at the bottom end next to the turbo.

After I fitted it the car seemed to a have more power.

When is a TIP not a TIP?!

Surely you guys are all talking about a TIH (Turbo intake hose).

In my mind the only true TIP replacement I've ever seen is the Neuspeed TIP: . ..:. Neuspeed Product Details .:.. .

At £166 it's a bit steep, but it's the real deal, and a direct swap for the standard pipe. It's on my wish list...

ABD Racing also do one, which also does away with the constriction at the bend at the bottom.

I had one on my old Octy vRS and they do make the turbo spool up quicker.

Or how about some pretty "Awesome" ones? :D

Sarah

i had one, didn't seem to make any difference.

i had one, didn't seem to make any difference.

I didn't think mine did either apart from slightly more spool up noise.

slightly more noise when i fitted my one, but it looks much nicer now being that its a shiny blue hose rather than a dirty old black pipe
