has it arrived yet Ross ?

whats it like ?

I'm being entirely serious here - does that not sound like the ideal way to make a cheap basis for a double-din nav unit? At £300 it's almost worth the gamble to get one and rip it apart.

Can you measure the dims of both halves of the case plase...

I'm just wondering if this could be done by separating the two clams, twisting the display back on itself (i.e. like a tablet) and the fabbing up some way of mounting it in a double din slot. Add a cheap usb gps unit and some software... Or am I being too geeky?

Your being very geeky... the Eee 701 is probably a better bet as the 7" screen would fit better, plus its pretty simple to stick a touchscreen in there too

(plus the 701 will be cheap as chips now)

Not yet mate. It was launched on the 7th and my order is now showing 'order taken' but i'm not sure what that means exactly. Play.com have also removed thier email so you cant ask them directly, they just have a section of FAQ's and tbh they are fing useless.

Play.com can be bloody useless with pre-orders; I speak from experience

Fingers crossed for you though

Steve
