oi oi pinks, what's the maximum thickness your laser cutting machine can do on mild steel plate??

what format do you need the files in?? standard autocad DXF??

cheers mush

1) 8mm mild steel.

2) DXF is by far the best.

cheers ed, i've also got another little project lingering in the back of my mind involving the rear disc brakes from a vw lupo or 6n2 polo too. i think it's possible to use the stub axles/calipers on the felicia trailing arm if a special adaptor plate is made to match up the bolt pattern

edit: pics removed

what i'm thinking about is 2 pieces which slot together, then it pushes on to the end of the bar to be welded on, i wont email the dxf files to you yet ed because i want to re-think the whole thing again to make sure i haven't made any mistakes in the measurements, also they will need to be bent to the right angle, but i can do that on my press

ok cool, well let us know.

folding is not a problem eather as we have about 7 brake presses at work to.

ok, at the moment i'm not certain what the exact angle will be, or how much needs to be trimmed off the ends of the vauxhall tigra arb, i will finalize this as soon as i can but i've got a few things that i need to do up front first

what thickness can you do on aluminium ed??

ooo now thats a hard one, because alu conducts heat so bloody well our laser that cuts 8mm mild steel, can only manage 1.6mm alu.

however, we do have 2 very big cnc punches that are just as accurate as the laser, and often quicker they will punch up to about 6mm alu.

what ya thinking?
