Featured Replies

Ive just lowered mine on Eibachs, and it sits just right now.

Im planning on dropping mine 40mm f/b on 17's. Will i have issues with bottoming out?

Noticed on couple of the photos you lot have a thin front splitter. Anyone know where i can get one from? Finishes the front off nicely without going over the top.

Cheers

No you'll not "bottom out" nowhere near. ;)

Seat Leon Cupra Splitter.

Available from a Seat dealer for about 20notes.

You'll have to modify it to fit.

Back on topic.

Ive never had a set of OEM Skoda wheels on my motor.

Do 16" Steels count? :D

I think 25mm is a good level to go to.

No offence but some of these cars look like they've been sat on. The fabia just doesn't look good if it's too low. After all it's a Skoda. Don't ch@v it up, show it some respect.

It's just a matter of opinion mate, I can't see the point in dropping by only 25mm as you can't tell its been lowered. Personally I think 40mm looks best but at the end of the day each owner will do what they think looks/handles best.

The silver Furb outside Mont St Michel looks awesome :)

It is! ;)

It is! ;)

and that was on just Eibach Springs and standard shocks!?

Was there anything in the boot etc, as it looks a hell of a lot lower than the others! I want mine to be lower, but not ridiculously low, and how yours is sitting looks perfect to me...

I think its on Coilovers mate...

in the OP he said Eibach's and standard shocks....

bump them to 17's fella, will look all the better for it!

I want coilovers :(

Am i the only one confused. I get that Eibach ProKit/Sportlines etc are just springs that are shorter and firmer so lower the car. I get that Koni FSD's are dampers that work with the firmer springs to produce a better ride over OEM. So what are coilovers? Sorry for my ignorance.

They lower the car a lot more than springs - and the ride height is adjustable, and on the more expensive kits so the damping.

Ah so coilovers have the springs and dampers in one set, is that why the KW Variant kits are so expensive

coilovers have a threaded strut allowing you to shift the spring platform up or down to set the height you want, the more expensive kits have dampening adjustment allowing the firmness of the ride to be set aswell. cheraper sets (like mine) are only height adjustable.

how hard / bouncy is the ride on the vmaxx?

how hard / bouncy is the ride on the vmaxx?

I had it as low as it went, adjusters out on the rear and it was mega bouncy.

Stuck the adjusters back in and raised the front to suit and it now drives 1 million times better, pretty much the same as my mates on KW V1's now

nice one thanks for that I think I'll get some maybe soon, just waiting to see if any rusting or leaky shock issues crop up

The adjusters prob will rust as there only Galvanised but just stick lots of copper slip on them before you fit :D

Lots over on Ed38 run them - maybe worth a spy

TUV and 2 year warranty - cant go wrong

I find coilovers much better but its all down to budget i suppose i have the KW V2 hieght adjustable and damping adjustable but they cost £750 expensive but they are spot on.

  • 2 months later...

Some of the cars are lower at the front with the back in the air, i want mine level and dont want to damage my undertray or sump.

I also agree that lowering your car 25/30mm is not worth doing, i was going down the 30mm eibach spring route, went down the garage and measured up and thought that's just not enough, if your going to lower your car might as well do a proper job!
