lowering pic requests on standard oem wheels

Featured Replies

I also agree that lowering your car 25/30mm is not worth doing, i

Why not ?

If it improves handling and ride comfort, it was worth doing.

My car wouldn't survive much lower than it is, when i visit the farm, my car scrapes already, and i'm only down 35mm.

So for me, lowering just that amount is worth it for me.

:iagree: (except i don't visit farms) :o

I keep reading that the standard shocks with lowering springs is a bad idea as they wear out the shocks much quicker.

Is this really the case? I'm amusing it's because lowering increases the "at rest" pressure in the shock through the extra compression?...or am I talking rubbish?

.

In theory yes that is true. However ive had my eibachs fitted with the standard shocks for 20k miles now, and it really was the best thing Ive done to the car, it totally transformed the ride and handling.

From what ive heard the standard shocks usually have a lifespan of about 60-80k anyway, so I would fit them, its only going to reduce the lifespan by a small amount in the long scheme of things.

I still wish mine was that little bit lower, but for everyday use its perfect.

This looks like a nice one, any idea if it was anyones one here? The ride height looks just right, be interested to see what suspension its on. PARKWAY MOTOR GROUP. : skoda fabia vrs turbo diesel

to me that looks asif its just on -30mm lowering springs

This is mine on Eibachs, sorry about the poor quality photos. That red one just looks lower on the front.

To be honest i dont know if i can go that low, say 60mm because ive got to drive down a lane to get to my garage and when i drive out the garage its a bit downhill, my Focus RS front bumper would scrape when i put it away, get the shovel out!

My Eibachs and Koni FSD's are being fitted on Tuesday night (happy days! :D), I'll post some pics.

What is the answer if u want to go lower than 60mm?

coilovers.

Or the loony bin!

Just been looking through the pics... Some nice cars, but not meny people have written what there riding on? or How Low?

Im after a measurment too, but am also living on a farm (I keem the track as flat as I can).

Not sure about 30mm, 35mm or 40mm.

Dampening adjustable, so I can make them rock 'ard. But not the best way round trying to get low.

Any help would be great, as my coilys should be here any day..

Dave

I don't really have the money for coilies, but I desperately want my car lower.

Is there any lowering springs people know of with a drop of say 30-40 mm?? And do springs improve handling at all? Giving it a lower sense of gravity and all that?

FK springs.

On ebay earlyer.

Those FK ones clearly state "exluding vRS" So will not be suitable for his Fabia vRS.

thanks for all these pics its really really helpful when trying to choose what to do !

Is that 50mm ? looks high

yeah it is as it wont go over speed bumps its a lot lower than it looks in that pic

I would guess those Cobra springs are pretty bouncy at the front end are they ?

As Cobra only list -30mm springs for the vRS.

The -50mm are listed for the standard Sdi/Tdi.

yeah real bouncy in the front iv got some supersoprt shocks coming to try and stop it as i was told the springs were for a vRS

Am guessing they're bouncy as they're probably not for the vRS.

Cobra sales guide only have the -30mm.

thatall teach me from buying from ebay as i was told that they were for a vrs
