Guess what I've got for the weekend!

I do wonder of the merits of airing this conversation in the public forum in quite so much detail, I ain't a mod or anything, just we might look back on it once James has been paid up and regret it?

I see your point however there is also some value in the masses understanding the reasons behind why Briskoda.net operates in the way it does. Some people think that Colin and John sit back counting their wealth every night, others think the moderators are on the payrol, some don't understand why we sometimes act in the way we do to protect the commercial interests of partners and hence why John has spoken to James this morning. Hopefully much of that has been cleared up.

I for one have no objection to James seling cars to the membership (as long as the proper procedures are followed), in fact for quite a long time Briskoda.net has been actively trying to pursue links with Skoda and it's dealer network with the ultimate goal of helping the membership.

Very true - I'm amazed there haven't been more dealers on here given the number of members we have, or maybe the dealers are the same age as the "average" skoda owner so don't do tinternet

Exactly, as has been proven the potential is out there, and if managed correctly could prove very rewarding for both the dealers and the buyers.

And back to business. What was she like to drive James? Full road test report please!

I'd imagine it will be similar to an Octy 2 tbh, but I did notice how huge it felt inside.

If I was to hazard a guess  I would say it was almost exactly the same as the old Superb but a lot more stable and quiet

I would hope it wouldn't be anything like the octy 2 - since it soaks up bumps like a road roller.

See autocar write-up on other thread for some elses thoughts

Oh right, I haven't driven one so I assumed it would be good, mind you a mate had a Mk1 and said it was like a go kart to sit in.

It is good fun - I struggle to tell difference between my octy II and mini cooper. Does mean when we went round the country roads of Ayrshire at the weekend it was pretty good fun. Very surprising for an estate car, can really throw it into the corners, which from what I read about the Superb II it is fine until you get to the balance of grip and the nose heavy thing will want to understeer, but if driven as it's meant to be then it's lovely
