How did you guys with standard cars find it?

I was also happy with my result too,187bhp on a standard car except a Carbonio

Everyone seemed quite impressed with my graph, perfect tourqe curve,AFR,boost

So well chuffed coz i was expecting under 180 TBH ,being my first ever RRday i didnt really know what to expect

Which makes me believe those that made 150+ were anything other than "standard" ;)

No mine is completely standard no map at all, that is coming soon very soon.

Even mike said they are standard because you can tell by the small spike on the graph at around 2k were the most torque is.

Well this is my rather belated thankyou post to all those who made Saturday a great day, it was good to meet some of you and see other peoples cars.

Unfortunately mine was one of the cars that failed to live up to expectations and hence has spent part of today back at IP with, thankfully some success, after some lengthy diagnosis Mike has recommended the maf be changed and that the cat may also be causing problems so along with the dv change(cheers Des) it looks like i will spending a few quid.

The figures

200.7(got to put the .7 in) bhp @6319 rpm

224.1 lbft @ 3089 rpm

Not exactly earthshattering but an improvement none the less.

Once again thanks everybody:)

Glad to hear you've had some improvement - hope you don't have to fork out too much. My turn Friday!! Must remember to look up your grill, defo think it's better than the std chrome on mine. All the best.

Fingers crossed yours goes a bit smoother,i thought mine was pretty sorted, goes to show what i know!

The grill is from the Milotec range there are a few online suppliers so let google be your friend.

Good luck :)

Right, success at last !! Been on the ramps and all the pipes checked, no faults found, but on rebuilding and testing she finally responds to the maps and gets the fuel right :D:D:D. Now giving 206bhp at 5800rpm and 230lb-ft at 3100. It may not sound the greatest bhp but it's 40bhp and 30lb-ft up on what she started with, and has got a fairly huge mid-range bulge. Couldn't get any grip in the wet roads testing afterwards!! Will post the curves soon but Mike's foot 'slipped' at 5800 rpm on the rollers, so the curve takes bit of a dive after this!! D'Oh !

Much more responsive and definately goes faster - so much better!! However, anyone round here got vagcom and willing to run a full diagnostic? Suspicion from Des that somethings not quite right somewhere and there is more to come at the top end. PM me if you can help?

Oh, yeah, Mark - I've coughed up!! :P

Curves before and after...

Power/Torque before the map:

Boost AFR etc pre map:

Power/Torque post IP map:

Boost/AFR post IP map:

Ignore the dodgy bit where Mike took his foot off at 5800 . Not quite sure why the AFR is like that at low revs - don't notice anything while driving though (except the horizon getting nearer sooner :D).

Don't blame the traffic - I had the same!!:rolleyes:

Thanks Bertee

so you ve sneakily had yours done...well whats it like?

It is well worth it mate

Only problem I had/have is that when the ECU was asking for 1 bar the response was slightly less than 1 bar  Nick thought it could be a dodgy pipe / DV.

I went to Wokingham tonight and on the way back the engine management light came on

No real loss of power but it is a right pain. Gonna sort a new DV etc Monday-ish and see if that sorts it.

Just think, with a fmic, cai, tip, 100cel cat turbo back system etc you too could keep up with Andrews' GT28.

PS should never have fitted that derv box. ;)

Is you referring to my car with those mods:confused:

You should have seen his face on the way back when Andyrew gave it large and yours truly was still behind him, it was a picture.

Andyrew, get rid of the diesel box, get a six speed petrol with a Quaife, and get the torque upped, that way you might leave my Octy vRS:D:D:P

I'm having a DPT box fitted to my diesel tomorrow on a 2 week trial.

Home » Diesel Power Tuning - Specialists in Diesel Tuning, Diesel Power and Diesel Performance using the DPT Tuning Box

rather than remapping the car. costs the same as IP fitted & the local distributor comes to my house to fit it. Expected 170bhp & 380Nm & up to 10% better fuel economy.

I know the maxidot isn't that accurate, but on my last tankful, it was showing 63mpg, mainly motorways & A/B roads & virtually no town work. Impressive stuff from an automatic (DSG) box. Ok my speeds weren't that high - cruising at 65 ish where possible or speed limits.

What's this got to do with this thread?

Ah, the DSG Octy. Hi matey!

Let us know how you get on with the DPT box :)

Well. I've had it a week, definitely feels quicker with more torque. most noticeable is not needing to use as much throttle, in fact backing off so much of the time. Still one week left of the 2 week free trial. fuel ecomony is better, which is why I went for this box.
