When he says a LEMON I think he means Chris's flying banana! ;) You didn't beat me Gerry :P

Was a good blat home. @ Fezboy, I was flashing like mad to get him to come over, but off he went up the A2!!!

It was a little playful on the way back yep, the noises from Andy's car were awesome lol. We weren't too naughty though atleast :)

I followed you off the M11 Gerry as my gearknob came off in my hand with some aggressive shifting! Found it on the parcel shelf

Oh, and yes it does go well, it felt better than ever on the way home through the back roads when I got off the motorway. Suspension next.

Yours is a peach too, just get that fuelling issue sorted out. :)

Hi Tom,i was really suprised by ur beemer running up that kind of power!

I thought that 328's were around 197bhp a bit like a corrado vr6

Well done tho matey!

Wish i could of seen des's run

Bless Mike, he really is determined to sort things out. Having discovered that my supposedly standard Mk1 vRS had been remapped in a former life (which was news to me) and was making peak power of only 165/167 but peak torque of 203/203 low in the range (?!) with 15psi peak boost, he and Phil spent from 11:30 till about 5:00 today doing run after run after run after run after run... with tweak after tweak (etc). Above about 4000 the fuelling just goes way rich (haven't got up to 10 AFR yet) and doesn't respond to their adjustments. Latest thought is leak/split hose/connection between turbo and engine causing a pressure difference between what the boost on the dyno is reading and what the engine is burning and hence the ecu is fighting a loosing battle with the fuelling. They tried a new MAF sensor on (fit direct, not through the air box) and that made 10% less power than mine through the airbox with the exact same map?!

I'm going back on Friday for them to look at the hoses etc and finish off. At the moment I'm on the "probably best-so-far" map, which is something like 180 horses and 230 torque. Used over 1/4 tank of fuel on the rollers today and possibly quite a bit of tyre wear, judging by the smell!

Best figure so far was 185 peak horses, but so far there's been no real power increase once above ~4000 so there is clearly plenty still to come.

Above and beyond the call of duty from my view! At least I know my engine is flexible - I've seen peak figures of anywhere from 136-185 anywhere from 4000-5900! It runs ok though.

If anyone with a non-mapped vRS is able to scan and post their charts for torque, boost and AFR I'd be very grateful. And I think I may be trying to track down the previous owner to see what they had done...

Really enjoyed the day, good to meet you all, sorry I've forgotten most of your names already, see you all at the next do whatever it is!

Wish i could of seen des's run

Surprised you didn't here it in Oxford!!

I'll be scanning mine tomorrow when I get to work

Des's run was good (especially as it was only on low boost) but somehow Beretta's was a little bit more 'impressive'!! Not sure if he's decided whether he agrees with that or not yet...

Nice pictures! Love the motorway shots Trevor. :) I had some great views in my mirrors on the way to IP, (before we got split up, damn Rascal!) I wish I had a passenger who could have taken some pics.

Anyways, here are a few I took throughout the day:

Sorry to hear about your problems! I'm sure IP will get you sorted out in the end!

Unfortunately my scanner broke a few months ago, but I took a couple of photos for you.

Andyrew your car sounds the nuts

Sorry I dropped off the back of you lot when we hit the SPECS infested bit of the A2. Would not want to be going even just a little bit faster than the speed limit would I? Thought about catching you up when we left the tunnel, but I turned off and went to the Jap meet at Thurrock. A few nice cars there, turning up until quite late into the evening.

And yeah, Andyrew, that car sounds properly mean.

Chris

Great day chaps; it was my first meet so it was nice to see how many people turned up.

The figures that my "standard" Fabia vRS kicked out were interesting!!! ;)

Here you go...

MODS:-

As there are now two threads running on this day, this one, and Trevor B33 has also started a Pictures & Discussion one, is it worth merging the two and locking one, to save the double posting in each???

I like this one

Lowest power of the day 112.9bhp not bad for standard.

IMG_1935%20(edit).jpg

Whats the standard on those Mike? about 106?

The two Fabias both made 150bhp and they were supposed to be standard as well... thought standard on those was 130bhp?

Mine made 158bhp/286lbft - it was more the torque figure that surprised me.

Think Chris made 150bhp/250lbft - he's got the newer BLT engine and they're meant to be above standard figure anyway.
