Got my first Skoda yesterday!

Featured Replies

then its an elegance with some kit... but not L&K...

maybe in norway they market it as L&K but it is not a real L&K like skoda intended it to be...

i can't belive that it has different seats (leather/fabric Duo), different rims, different interior trim, and NO L&K BADGE and it is still a real L&K !

so is my early L&K not an L&K cos it doesnt have the side badges

Its from a different country and they have a different spec for their L&K, go look at the skoda finland website if you want??? If you lived in Finland would you say our UK L&K's werent L&K's because they dont have Columbus???

(great car by the way Ducky!)

your "different spec" is identical to elegance !!!

your "different spec" is identical to elegance !!!

I assume youre talking about duckys and elegances now come with side airbags, leather seats, TPM, 16" and not 15" alloys and columbus as standard do they?

If i buy a Skoda cake will i get an Octavia free?

Interesting how many differences are standard on the same models round the world: multifunction steering wheel IS standard on my UK L&K! Didn't see a Storm Blue model when I was looking so I went for black. SWMBO liked the popular VRs Race Blue but I had to explain about 6 times she couldn't have that colour! Even better than that was what I believe is NightFire Blue on the Superb: little bit darker and deeper than Race Blue and much sexier! Initially thought i'd missed a colour when ordering and was gutted but then noticed that it was actually a Superb so wasn't an option anyway and fealt relieved. Beautiful deep blue though, absolutely stunning outside the showroom in Aldershot.

congrats!

Yeah MFSW is standard....columbus sat nav isn't though! £1300 extra for us :(

I think that this and the electronic tyre pressure monitor are the only factory fit non-inclusive options you can add in the UK.

loving the storm blue - that's what I went for also. It looks quite dark in some light, but when the sun comes out it really "pops out" at you and looks a very different colour. I'm very happy with it

interior option in uk for seats is the light gray leather or alcantara (black leather & suede-like combo). Piano black trim is default and I'm not aware there are any other choices for that

BTW would suggest treating your leather seats....I thought mine looked good, but decided to protect them at the weekend when I washed the car. They were very "thirsty", they were more dark grey looking to start but now look more black - I used some Simoniz Leather seat wipes that have carnauba wax in them......they were on offer in tesco for £1.50 so thought I may as well give it a try.....I'm sure you can get better and more expensive treatments but they seem to have done a decent job :)

like i have already said if have read it you'd know:

ELEGANCE WITH SOME KIT

elegance CAN have extras like satnav, 16" rims, leather/fabric duo, 4X4 and more upgrades

L&K CAN'T HAVE 1.9 ENGINE, 4X4 AND BE DOWNGRADED WITH ALMOST EVERITHING THAT SETS IT APART FROM OTHER OCTAVIAS AND STILL BE CALLED L&K !!!

do calm down mr shouty

L&K in the UK has Columbus and TPM as options but you also have sunset glass, sunroof and front parking sensors as the only extra options, as such, in terms of factory fitted items available. I went for the latter three and didn't bother with satnav and TPM...heard too many either bad or 'it ain't worth it' reports on it.

And my L&K will be black, not storm blue Madfiddler. I looked at the blue in the showroom and really wanted something other than black cos of dirt, but I think it didn't help having it stand next to a VRs in blue! Went elsewhere with the intention of DEFINATELY not having a black one... and they had an estate with sunset glass and swmbo and I loved it. Instant decision even though I tried fighting it and going for the Anthracite grey which I WAS going to go for!

I can't read or speak a word of Norwegian. but looking at New ?koda Octavia Combi 4x4 it appears to me that there is no L&K Estate available in Norway, just the

  • Ambiente
  • Elegance
  • Stasjonsvogn 4x4

i think that proves my point...

Anyway......lovely car and smart colour but ,how much more for the 2.0:eek:

Enjoy though

Yes, it's the 1.9 TDI, the price difference between the 2.0 and the 1.9 is around 40 000 nkr (3900£)

I'd highly recommend Gliptone for leather seats (and anything else Leather).

Comes in a bottle as a thick cream and the easiest way to apply it is by rubbing it in with bare hands.

Nice car, but you should get the dealer to check it. The factory seems to have fitted the steering wheel to the wrong side of the car?

Thanks for the suggestion for the leather seats , I will have a look at whats avaiable here. The interior option was the default one for my car, its called DUO on the elegance, the only other option is full leather, but some cash has to be added.

The norwegian site is not so good on some points, but the one I bought is in fact sold as L&K (even if its an Elegance with some kit added as some suggests). The discussion on weather its "really" an L&K is for me rather academic since its sold as an L&K here, and for me thats what it is. To see all the option available in Norway you have to use the "build your own car" configurator as it's not covered properly other places on the site.

It can be accesed here

http://app.moller.no/MollerConfiguratorWeb/showDealersAction.do?brandId=951C1&country=NOR[

Select (velg) one of the dealers first, then go on to build the car.

Im enyoing a lot :)

Yes, the car taxes here are steep (maybe the highest in the world). Taxes on new cars are based on horse power, weight of the car, and CO2 emisions and a complicated forumla is applied to get the price. Btw, the price of my car registered is 352 000 nkr =~ 35000£ I wonder what you would pay in GB?

At a rough guess a 1.9 TDi Estate 4x4 with your spec would be about £18,500. The Scout Estate 2.0L TDi 140bhp is around £20,000.

And we complain about car prices here in UK!

You certainly don't have any reason to complain, thats for sure..

I checked, and the only Skoda available for the equivalent of 18500£ is the smallest fabia 1.2 70Hk Ambiente.

Just had a quick look at the Skoda Germany "Konfiguratur"

2.0 TDI VRS hatch €28k

2.0 TDI 140 Sport hatch €26k

2.0 TDI combi 4x4 L&K €32k

2.0 TDI combi Scout €29k

I wonder how many Norwegians buy grey imports?

Similar to UK in the late 80s early 90s?

I think the L&K package in Norway is a special L&K package in which they have an agreement with the fabric.

I recently bought a Scout L&K (I guess you never heard about that, right :)) and that was a special edition for Norway only. It has most options default in the package, but also some strange limitations. Ie. it's not possible to order the multifunction steering wheel with phone options, only volume options. Not a big deal, but that's how it is. I'm satisfied, though :)
