Got my first Skoda yesterday!

Featured Replies

Hi, after reading this forum for several months I finally got my very own Skoda Octavia. It's a L&K 1.9 TDI 4x4 Storm Blue Metalic, and the first few kilometers have been exellent. A few pictures:

We even got a Skoda cake from the dealer

I look forward to driving it as much as possible, and this forum is really great!

Very nice indeed and that cake corrr how much did they charge for that ;)

Looking very nice, enjoy.

Welcome to the club

lovely colour..i didn't get a cake with mine :(

Stunning car - and cake.

Love the colour - have you been polishing/waxing it, or is that how you got it from the dealer?

Hello and Welcome.

A very shiny car, a lovely cake and Norwegian sun-shine - brilliant.

Nice cake:thumbup:And excellent car:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Sweet ride...I'm getting jealous... :)

Thank you all :)

The cake was free with the car (or is it the other way around? )

It was shiny like this when i got it from the dealer, the pictures are taken after only driving it home from there :)

You sure it's 1.9 tdi? I noticed in the first inside pic that it has a 6-speed manual gearbox. As far as I know 6-speed box is only available with the 2 litre derv and more powerfull petrol ones. But then again I could be wrong..

Anyway, welcome to the forums! Car looks nice. I was visiting norway about a month back for couple of weeks. Really nice country with excellent views. Also noticed plenty of Skodas around.. and 4x4's in general.

Thanks Juha :)

Yes, it's the 1.9 TDI, the price difference between the 2.0 and the 1.9 is around 40 000 nkr (3900£) so I doubt they have mixed up. I think also that the options you can choose is dependent of country, so it might not be available in Finland.

i must admit you see some of these colours in the catalogue on on the wing mirror covers they use in the show room and you think they look crap, but that does look good in the flesh (and natural light).

So does mine...

But I notice the OP says -

It's a L&K 1.9 TDI 4x4

In the UK we only have one trim level for the 4x4, so if we want either the multifunction steering wheel, SatNav or tyre presure sensors they are all optional here...

very nice .. both car & cake

The multifunction steering is not included in the L&K package, so that is extra, but the other stuff is included. I also got the extra protection plate under the car since there is a lot of snow and sometimes quite hard large bits of ice in the winter that damaged my previous car.

And another picture from yesterday:

doesn't look like L&K...

Interesting how many differences are standard on the same models round the world: multifunction steering wheel IS standard on my UK L&K! Didn't see a Storm Blue model when I was looking so I went for black. SWMBO liked the popular VRs Race Blue but I had to explain about 6 times she couldn't have that colour! Even better than that was what I believe is NightFire Blue on the Superb: little bit darker and deeper than Race Blue and much sexier! Initially thought i'd missed a colour when ordering and was gutted but then noticed that it was actually a Superb so wasn't an option anyway and fealt relieved. Beautiful deep blue though, absolutely stunning outside the showroom in Aldershot.

Yeah, the previous poster wrote that it didn't look like an L&K, and I wondered why. So I had a look at the UK Skoda brochure, and now understands a bit better. It seems the Norwegian L&K package is very different from the UK one. You get 17'' wheels while we only get 16'' wheels (which makes sence since Norwegain roads are much worse than brittish ones). We get a full size spare wheel, You don't get the Columbus from the brochure (we do), is that really so? The driver seat is normal on our version (not electrically adjustable), there are also no Laurin clement badges on the seats or in the doorstep on our L&K.

So, it seems the differences are so large that it's only the name that compares.

Btw, I agree with your SWMBO about the color. If the vRS race blue was available I also would have chosen that one.

Seriously, you DEFINATELY need to check out the Superb in that Night Fire Blue then! Amazing!

still don't think it is a L&K... don't have L&K badge on the front fenders (where there is the turning signal in octavia mk 1 for example)

also this car has elegance interior trim, unlike what should be in L&K - piano black...

and it has black leather/fabric called Duo...

is this even an option in L&K ?? don't think so but maybe i'm wrong about that...

Plus it has 4x4, can't possibly be an L&K! :)

It's a foreign spec 4x4 L&K, as the owner says further up the Norwegian spec is completely different to the UK one, we get different interior trim and they get Sat Nav as standard are just a few differences.

Looks great :)

then its an elegance with some kit... but not L&K...

maybe in norway they market it as L&K but it is not a real L&K like skoda intended it to be...

i can't belive that it has different seats (leather/fabric Duo), different rims, different interior trim, and NO L&K BADGE and it is still a real L&K !
