I was given the 8-gauge and also a 16-gauge and 24-gauge ring and told to 'change up' at weekly intervals. I have a 32-gauge in now, although also have a 16-gauge custom titanium barbell for, er, concourse events!

Most piercings are done @ 1.6mm (UK sizes) = 14 Gauge (USA sizes)

Things like a PA are done @ 2.4mm (which looks like it is actually 2.5mm) = 10 Gauge

The smaller the Gauge No. the thicker the jewelery is in mm.

Thought I was being clever - ignore gauges and replace 8/16/32 with 0.8, 1.6 and 3.2mm. Mine was definitely done small and stretched - I definitely wouldn't have forgotten as I was there!

No probs with a urinal as long as the ring's a decent fit, because the Coanda Effect which just sends the wee around the ring and off at the ball/bolt (think I've mentioned that before on here FWIW) I sit down at home as you do have two (near parallel) streams to contend with, which makes aiming into a bowl a little tricky. I imagine someone with a 'Queen Victoria' or an Ampalang (sp?) would have to sit down all the time...
