Well happy with my car

Featured Replies

Well got back yesturday from 2 weeks in the south of France, and am very pleased with the way the Roomy went

a few stats;

2339 miles in 49.46 hrs avg speed 47mph at 47.mpg overall :D

Over the whole time in France only saw 4 other Roomsters, one of those was a uk reg'ed one.

The car had plenty of room for us all including bags a teddy's for the girls, they loved the glass roof for looking at things . the climate control had know trouble with the heat, upto 39`c at times

It had know trouble up in the mountains, lots of 1st and 2nd gears over 50miles in one stage going up and down the Col de Tourini :D

Then the final triumph for it was yesturday, when we ended up doing the whole trip back from Nice to calais in one hit,

741 miles in 11hrs 35 mins driving time, both of us got out with no aches or pains and feeling relitivley fresh, in fact it was more comfy than the Oct'y 2 we had.

Here are just a few pic's,

The Roomster reminds me of my old Doblo - pig ugly but does the job.

There was some nice scenery on your hols and a very good average mpg especially with some of those 1st and 2nd gear hills. Sunshine as well.

Nice looking car

Where about in France was that it looks stunning?

Nice looking car mate, and France looks lovely.

We were based just outside Nice in the very south, Mountains were out the back of Monaco, Col de Tourini is were they run one of the rally stages in the Monaco WRC.

Car looks well. Are they aftermarket tints from B pillar back or "standard" sunset glass?

Sounded like a great trip. Those tints look aftermarket to me, as quite dark, but I could be wrong. :) Bet they came in useful in the heat.

Looks like you had a good trip :)

The car looks great, I'm getting to really like Roomsters.

Great scenery too.

Tints were done by supplying dealer, and slightly darker than standard

The car looks great and so did your holiday.

I am off to Quimper in the next couple of weeks, was the diesel cheaper than the UK?

We too are going from Calais so we have about a 600-mile trip. Not done a great deal of driving in France any pointers would be appreciated.

Make sure you have a Hi Viz vest IN the car as it is now law in France,

I took 4, 1 each for us just to be safe and put them under the drivers seat.

Keep to the speed limits as we saw lots of Radar trapes.

Sorry didn't pay much attension to derv prices, as i filled up when the light came on, which limits your choice.

Just remember to drive on the right, If you are not used to it, just put a sticker on your steering wheel as you can forget at times.

just enjoy it.

mine is the same color good pics

Awesome pics, looks like a great holiday!!!

Car looks well too. :)

looks like you have a nice time. I bet you glad to be back to the excellent British summer.:(

Excellent! I always thought the Roomster would make a cool roadtrip car. Yours looks nice and the scenery on your holiday looks fantastic.

Roomster 3, with optional roof bars and privacy glass.:D

Looks like you had a great trip mate, and some nice pictures to.

I will be stretching my Roomsters legs at the end of next week when the family heads over to Germany for our summer break. See how the Roomster copes with Wife and 6 year old twins plus all the gear on the Autobahn.

I am trying to convince the Mrs that we NEED to visit the Nurburgring so I can put it round there :D

I tried that as well, would be a good stop over point from the South of France.

But was told it's an extra 200miles out of the way.

Maybe another year.

is it the 1.9 tdi you have? What a great holiday!

And your problem was???:D

Just done 2,500 in two weeks in Cornwall (not as exotic as France:))and the car performed faultlessly:thumbup:
