New Superb Colours

Featured Replies

Here's the complete colour chart, in the best form I've been able to find it so far. Until the dealers get real colour swatches, I think this is as close to reality as you can get (certainly closer than the Skoda UK website).

When you look at the brilliant silver and the candy white, I did wonder if Skoda had got the images the wrong way around, but I'm assured that this is correct.

Personally, I'm going to go for Steel Grey (Platin Grey in the rest of Europe).

Mocca or Pacific would be my choices.

nice one Bagpuss - best colour chart i have seen - now you would have thought SUK would ensure dealers had it with launch just around corner ,

steel grey for me also, with thermisto alloys methinks.

Not found any images of Pacific Blue (got plenty of Storm Blue), but here are some of Mocca brown. It looks surprisingly good.

Have to say that the red does look pretty good. My daughter loves it, but my wife isn't so keen.

Here's a few images I've found of it:

They do have a colour chart on their website now, but it's awful. The colours they shown aren't even close to reality.

I know it's difficult to get accurate matching on a computer screen without proper calibration, but their attempt is just woeful.

I've been trying to see some actual colour swatches myself, but nobody seems to have them yet. That's what prompted me to go hunting for some better images.

Skoda UK do not seem to have put their act together very well. Five weeks or so from them being launched in the showrooms and still the information is being drip fed to potential purchasers. No UK catalogue either yet! Options list was slow coming so cars that were ordered early had to have additions or their specs changed. I managed to add certain options that I had as standard on my current Elegance after finding the Superb 2 did not have them. Thanks to a few members on this site I was able to have them added. Some dealers still seem to be in the dark, and I am telling them from the information I have gathered on here. Mmmm a new career in car sales.....Knowing ones product is very imortant and from what I have seen there are a lot of dealers out there that do not know their product.

I've got the Skoda UK brochure for it - wait for it - 4 pages!!! You can order them off the website.

I've also got a full brochure written in English but not UK spec models.Classic, Ambition and Elegance are the specs in the non-UK brochure.

I email Skoda CZ directly and ask for a full set of the latest brochures - they send you all models including Octavia Tour, Octy Scout and vRS and even the Praktik model, all written in english and much more informative than the 'clinical' sh1te Skoda UK produces.

I know exactly what you are saying. I've got the four page thing, and it's not very inspiring. When you consider how good the car is, it's a shame that the marketing materials aren't doing it justice. The UK website is also a bit of a joke. Time to sack those web designers?

As far as colours go, I don't want to see a chart. I want to see pictures of the actual car in different lighting situations. The images are out there, as I've been able to find loads. Most of them appear to be official Skoda promo shots. Why they aren't using them to better effect, I just don't know.

Glad I am not the only one less than impressed with the efforts of SUK Marketing. I also agree in regards to the UK website. It is a mess, not that professional IMHO compared to the European sites. Come on SUK you can do better than that!

Agree with all of you SUK site sucks imho - so much so rang them up and told them - i am on free phone calls so no loss there !!!. European site easy to navigate and actually contains information. Its the dealers I feel sorry for trying to flog cars without the info on cost or what you get for your money.

For much of the time, I've had more information than the dealers. The ironic thing is that I've been getting lots of it from Skoda themselves. It has to be said that some dealers are better than others at doing the research though. A lot of them expect to have it handed to them on a plate, whereas others were searching the net and finding out as much as they could.

From reading a couple of the french Skoda forums, it looks like this could have been a Skoda CZ issue, rather then Skoda UK specific. A lot of people were complaining about a lack of information right up to the point where demonstrators started arriving at the dealership.

I guess we'll never know for sure what caused the problems.

On the subject of the website, I think I might mention it to our Skoda account manager. When you compare it to the VW site, it really does look old and tired (that's me being polite). As some of my colleagues have said, 'It looks just how I expect, coming from Skoda'.

Badge snobbery is still an issue for the brand, and the website just reinforces the 'Skodas are crap' image.

I think that Pacific Blue looks great for a non-metallic.

But for me I like the Brunello Red or the Mocha Brown (which I ordered without any idea what it would actually look like)

I'm inclined to agree with you James. I think the Mocha Brown, black leather, wood trim, will look really nice.

I've managed to find some images of the standard dash trim on SE and Elegance. Personally, I prefer it to the wood.

Thanks for the pictures Piotr, and welcome to the forum.

I prefer the wood myself. I should probably know the answer myself but I don't perhaps you do. Is the wood real or fake? At an option cost of £125 you'd hope it was real.

Just plastic, I'm afraid. The Skoda CZ brochure calls it 'imitation wood'.

Personally, I think £125 is a lot of money for some bits of plastic.

I agree with you on the standard trim. I've ordered a Satin Grey 2.0 PD in SE trim (company car via lease) . It will be first time I've experienced this Alcantara pseudo-suede upholstery which is std for the SE - anyone got any experience of it ?

I prefer the wood myself.

I have to agree also, the current 'metal' trim is OK but i think that new one looks pretty nasty

Shame it isn't real. It looks pretty nice and the pattern doesn't reoccur like often in fake wood.

£125 is rather pricey for that, surely it should be a no cost option really?

Totally agree. Definitely a no cost option, as not everyone would want it as standard.

Just been looking at the spec. sheets I've got for French and Belgian Superbs, and there are some interesting differences between UK Elegance and their Elegance.

The biggest difference is that we get Columbus as standard, whereas the French and Belgians only get a 'Swing' radio. Whilst they do get the leather interior, the seats don't have the memory function. You can have it, but you've got to pay for it. Also, none of the Elegance models over there get 18" wheels or the Xenon headlights with AFS.

Also, the Belgians do get wood as standard, but the French don't. In France, there is also an extra trim level above Elegance called 'Praha'.

Contrary to what I thought, the French and Belgians are actually paying more than us for an Elegance. e.g. the 2.0TDI 170 Elegance costs £23685 here, but £24655 in Belgium and £23726 in France. To get standard Columbus, you've got to go for the Praha model, and that costs £25912.

For once, it looks like we are not getting ripped off compared to the rest of Europe. I know that tax regimes etc. differ, but it still looks like we are getting a good deal.

Personally, I think Skoda UK have got the balance just right. Sure, wood trim ought to be free, but I'll take a standard Columbus unit and Xenons over wood trim, any day.
