709.2 MILES ON ONE vRS TANK

Featured Replies

Just filled up with 55.33 litres BP ultimate (filled expansion tank).

Fuel consumption was 58.33 MPG my best ever.

Now a convert to BP ult. Mostly driven gently on country roads but included 2 hours nose to tail in a safari park.

Well pleased .

thats beyond the most iv got is about 400 miles thats mixed drving with a mixture of town/motorway/country type roads

how did you manage that

Thats impressive, i can get about 400-450 miles on a tank full of mixed driving. i would pleased if i was you.

I get about 520 miles out of a tank.

I guess id get more if i didnt overtake, and play the 'how low can i get my mpg going up this hill' !! lol.

9.5 is the best, along the foss.

And I thought 500 to a tank was good. You must have got stuck to that lorry you were

following :)

WTF!!! Lol, grandad driver here haha. I dont think Ive hit 400 on a tank yet let alone 700

That because you drive like a yungster :)

i did under 200 miles today and used a tankful,never managed over 350 miles on a tank,what am i doing wrong?

And possibly related problem,my car has gone through 3 sets of tyres in the 13000 miles it has done,in fact i scrubbed anothr pair of fronts off today,is this normal?

LOL sounds like me bud /\

never reached 400, i just get throttle happy

most i've had is 430 when i was trying to be good.

400 for me too

Always get about 600ish from a tank (Including the expansion) but do 70% motorway and sometimes I drive at 56mph just to see what mpg i can get!!

over 700 miles to a tank , thats certainly a record in my eyes , beats my 645 miles done the other week

if i didn't have such a poor/slow/traffic filled drive home from work i would be up near that mark

most ive done would be just over 600 miles out of one tank,

how did u get 55 litres in? my tank fully empty will only go to around 48-50 litres.. :|

Amazing!

But what was your average speed?

As for myself, I typically get about, er, 350 miles to a tank. And that's on V-Power diesel too!

In my defence, I've only had my vRS a month so I'm still having fun, the engine needs decoked (possibly) as it was previously owned by a retired gent who only put 7910 miles on it from new (it's an 04-plate) and also my right foot is actually made from osmium, the most dense naturally occurring element (which explains why it's so heavy).

I normally get about 400 to a tank but on the way back from the ring i only used half a tank lol

On average I get about 450-475 per tank and I run Millers diesel sport 4 with every tank, think the best I had was 500 miles, 700 is unreal!! Does the expansion tank really add that much?

Thats what I usually get. I think the expansion takes loads if you take the time to fill it up fully, I'll get an extra 170-190 miles before the needle will even move if am being a good boy:cool: (just on ordinary diesel)

I can manage 6.6 on the flat.. but then mine has a proper engine. :D

Sounds perfectly normal usage to me. ;):D

I used to get around 430miles to a tank around town in my vRS but I travelled at off peak 90% of the time.

Thats some achevement!

Lucky if i got 300miles from my last tank!

Ha.

Did you have a fiew extra diesel cans in the boot or forget to reset your trip? most ive ever got was 510 all motorway and between 400 and 450 mixed driving

I've had about 600 miles to a tank using the overfuel. I could maybe squeeze about 650 if I went all the way down to ZERO miles left in tank. And that's with mostly country driving with a bit of spirited.

700! You're joking surely?

520 is about the average for a tank and that's with the expansion tank! (~52ltrs)

i usually get around 450 mark

What size tank do the VRS's have? My old 306HDi did 714 to a tank once!" This was a mixture of motorway, B road and traffic jams. It hold 60L. Equates to around the high 50's to the gallon. Totally standard car etc. Would have thought a VRS would have done around 600?
