Any tips for finding a VRS tdi on the net??

Im trying to track down one under 15k with leather interior and a sunroof! Been looking through skoda uk used car section but it doesnt let you specify a sunroof and that is a necessity for me as I never buy a car without it (yes sad but true!) So im left to look through each sodding picture until I see one - the only ones ive seen so far are on CR tdi models which are over 20 grand.

Ive also noticed 08 cars seem to have front/rear electric windows which is nice but too expensive for my budget.

Any tips where second hand VRS Tdi OctyII's can be found preferably from a garage or Car megastore etc...

The CR Tdi is the recently released engine. Most of those used will be Demo cars still.

Electric Rear windows came as part of an option called the 'Jumbo Pack' which also included Climate Control and the centre armrest. This has been a free upgrade on all new vRS for quite some time, buying one without would be financial suicide come reseale time IMHO.

Personally I'm really hoping that the Jumbo Pack "missing" doesn't make a major difference to the resell value.

Unfortunately an 07 plate (which I think is when that pack went standard) was a little out of my budget, so I bought a 56 without the pack.

As for dealers - All I can do is recommend the people I went to see.

Via the Skoda website I went to Horton Skoda (Dennis Horton and Son Skoda | Lincolnshire Skoda Dealer | Skoda Lincoln) and spoke to a great guy called John Day.

This place only deal in Skoda - all their pre-owned are Skoda too.

They also have some vehicles that don't appear instantly via the Skoda UK website, so it is worth speaking to them.

I don't want this post to look like a big advert, but I really was so impressed with the service they gave me I feel they deserve recommendation.

Try looking on Autotrader and ebay (seriously!) as some of the cars the dealers have don't appear on the Skoda UK site as the dealers are trying to move them on before they are "allowed" to. I found mine that way at a good price and not via the Skoda site.

Sounds like a tough spec to meet as I would have thought that there are not too many with sunroofs and if you want leather too then that really will be a small number (if any). Good luck with your search anyway but I think you may have to be prepared to travel. When I was looking a while back my local dealer said they would try to source any spec I wanted within their contacts/network. So may be worth a try at your local dealer as they may have contacts who will know of cars before they appear on the official system.

I would reckon the travelling is going to be a necessity as posted above... I finished up in Liverpool for mine rather than the locals in Sheffield.

cant see you finding that spec easily. have you thought about finding one with a sunroof athen getting the dealer/specialyst to re-trim the seats? think i remember the leather option being £1200 or £1800 at the dealer.

Re the jumbo pack, if i was looking for a used VRS i would dismiss any without it straight away as I find the climate/rear elec very handy. If youre happy without it and your keeping it for number of years then its not going to be so much of a problem when the cars eventually worth 10p

Doh! didnt realise that VRS was half leather anyway! thought it was cloth standard like the old fabia vrs

Well now I just need one with jumbo pack and sunroof!

I cant find any TDi vRS's on autotrader for 15k with a sunroof, there are several petrol ones just over your budget at 16K.

This is the cheapest TDi vRS with sunroof I could find on autotrader, and its way over budget.
